Leads complex aircraft structural design and integration activities, including 3D modeling, assemblies, drawings, metallic and composite parts, joints, interfaces, tolerances, and fasteners. Coordinates with engineering and manufacturing disciplines, resolves interface conflicts, supports certification and root-cause investigations, manages design changes and PLM data, and mentors engineers. Requires a relevant engineering bachelor’s degree and typically 10–15 years of aerospace engineering experience.

Designs and integrates aircraft structures from concept through detailed definition, production support, certification, and in-service modifications. Develops 3D models, assemblies, drawings, metallic and composite components, joints, interfaces, and fastening concepts. Coordinates with engineering and manufacturing disciplines, resolves interface conflicts, supports certification and root-cause investigations, manages design changes in PLM systems, and provides technical status, risk identification, and peer support.

Define and document Siemens NX CAD standards, templates, and workflows within Teamcenter PLM. Integrate NX, CATIA V5, and multi-CAD tools, troubleshoot issues, review model compliance, and improve engineering processes. Lead requirements workshops, create user documentation, mentor users, and collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, IT, and Siemens teams to support adoption of proposed solutions.

Design and model aircraft cabin parts and assemblies: create/modify 3D models, produce and update technical drawings, standardize models, analyze change requests, research specifications, perform root-cause analysis, support production/engineering, verify assembly documentation, and comply with AS9100 and company QMS procedures.

Design, develop, verify and certify Fly-by-Wire flight-control laws. Write DO-178B/ARP4754-compliant requirements, perform V&V for a primary flight computer, and update design models and assessment tools using Matlab and C++ as needed.

Integrates and installs aircraft cabin mechanisms, monuments, equipment, and internal structures. Defines interfaces, updates aircraft digital mock-ups in CATIA, resolves production and testing issues, coordinates with suppliers and engineering teams, reviews deliverables, manages design changes, supports certification, and ensures compliance with customer specifications, aerospace standards, and quality procedures.

The Designer role focuses on 2D/3D design and modeling of parts and assemblies, problem resolution related to production, and compliance with engineering standards.
