The role is intended for a current or recent mechanical engineering student with knowledge of strength of materials, basic mechanical calculations, CAD, office software, and English communication skills.

Leads Grid Services projects across North America, managing planning, customer communications, contract reviews, variation orders, project governance, equipment and software availability, profitability, administrative activities, and post-project reviews. Coordinates field specialists, project managers, technical teams, and international stakeholders while ensuring safety, quality, schedule, cost, customer satisfaction, and contractual compliance. Manages contractual and commercial activities for major hydroelectric projects from bidding and negotiation through execution, closeout, and warranty. Responsibilities include contract interpretation, formal correspondence, notices, amendments, change orders, claims support, risk tracking, supplier and subcontractor flow-down, compliance, records, and stakeholder coordination. The role protects commercial interests while supporting project delivery across complex, matrixed energy infrastructure projects.

Leads and mentors a North American mechanical tooling engineering team supporting hydroelectric turbine and generator projects. Oversees tooling methods, lifting and lashing drawings, 3D and fabrication designs, structural calculations, manuals, budgets, schedules, and technical issue resolution. Performs tooling engineering directly when needed, drives technical excellence and continuous improvement, manages delivery risks, supports project teams, and builds technical relationships across a global matrix organization. Requires mechanical engineering expertise, Canadian licensure eligibility, hydro equipment knowledge, and approximately 10% travel.

Manage order cycles in SAP, process invoices, maintain document integrity, and resolve discrepancies before they delay projects. Coordinate with commercial, project management, planning, technical support, purchasing, logistics, and manufacturing teams. Track deliverables, project milestones, and customer satisfaction while proposing process improvements and managing changing priorities. The role requires fluent French and English, strong organization, accountability, and on-site collaboration at the La Prairie plant.

Lead Project Controls responsible for delivering large turnkey projects by building and maintaining integrated schedules and budgets, managing cost forecasts, risks, change orders and reporting. Ensure compliance with project controls standards (WBS, processes), liaise with finance and third parties, oversee planning function, support closeout/claims and drive cost and schedule quality using Primavera, P6, MS Project and SAP.

Plans and executes service contracts from commercial handoff through administrative closeout. Manages commercial risk across hydropower EPC tenders, ensuring compliance with GE Vernova underwriting policies and risk processes. Partners with commercial, engineering, sourcing, legal, finance, and project teams to identify, assess, and mitigate risks. Leads risk review gates, validates risk-reward balances, and incorporates project execution feedback and cross-business best practices to improve tender-stage risk controls.
