Commercial Auto Claims Advisor

Department Overview

Our Commercial Auto Claims team supports business customers through important and often challenging moments. In this role, you’ll be part of a collaborative team that helps customers navigate the claims process with sound judgment, technical claims knowledge, empathy, and clear communication. You’ll manage claims with urgency, accuracy, and care while helping deliver fair outcomes, manage risk, and create a positive customer experience.

Job Details — What You’ll Do

As a valued member of the Commercial Auto Claims team, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Support customers with care: Provide timely, clear, and empathetic communication throughout the claims lifecycle, helping customers understand coverage, next steps, and claim outcomes.

  • Investigate and resolve claims: Gather, verify, and assess information from available sources to confirm coverage, evaluate liability, determine damages, and support fair and equitable claim resolutions.

  • Apply technical claims expertise: Review policies, contracts, appraisals, estimates, and supporting documentation to make sound decisions, establish appropriate reserves, and manage claim outcomes effectively.

  • Help manage risk thoughtfully: Apply claims management principles, identify red flags, escalate concerns when appropriate, and follow established organizational processes and procedures.

  • Collaborate for strong outcomes: Work with claim management vendors, internal partners, and leaders to maintain service standards, resolve customer concerns, and support productivity expectations.

  • Contribute to an inclusive team culture: Share knowledge, participate fully as a team member, support a positive and welcoming work environment, and act as a brand champion for TD Insurance.

To support your success in this role, you’ll maintain applicable licensing requirements in good standing, including AMF commercial licensing where required.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • College or university degree, or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.

  • 1–2+ years of experience in Commercial Auto Claims or related claims experience.

  • Ability to maintain required provincial licensing in good standing, including AMF commercial licensing where applicable.

  • Bilingualism in English and French is required for this role

  • In order to be considered for this role, a successful candidate must possess a valid AMF claims adjuster license

  • Strong communication, customer service, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage difficult conversations professionally.

  • Sound judgment, attention to detail, time management, and ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced claims environment.

Helpful Experience

  • General insurance knowledge and experience interpreting policies, coverage, liability, damages, estimates, appraisals, and reserves.

  • Experience working with vendors, repair partners, or internal business partners to resolve claims efficiently and accurately.

  • Interest in ongoing professional development, including insurance education or participation in relevant claims capability programs.
