As a Guidewire tech lead, you’ll be part of a development team supporting a strategic transformation initiative in property and casualty insurance. You’ll play a key role in the evolution of the Guidewire platform by providing technical leadership to delivery teams. You’ll serve as a technical authority for the development teams and work closely with business partners, architects and quality assurance specialists to design and deliver high-performing, scalable solutions that align with business needs. You’ll contribute to the evolution of development practices, the quality of solutions and the technological direction of the Guidewire platform. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Provide technical leadership for the Guidewire platform and serve as the subject matter expert for development teams
- Transform business needs, functional requirements and architectural guidelines into robust, scalable, secure and maintainable technology solutions
- Design delivery strategies, participate in application architecture decisions and guide teams in the implementation of solutions
- Mentor, coach and support developers to foster their professional growth, promote team autonomy and encourage the adoption of development best practices
- Actively participate in detailed design, development, integration, testing, deployment and application support activities
- Conduct design, configuration and code reviews to ensure compliance with established quality, security, performance, scalability and maintainability standards
- Work closely with architects, business analysts, quality assurance specialists, operations teams and technology partners to ensure alignment across solutions and successful project outcomes
- Analyze complex technical issues, lead major incident resolution activities, perform root cause analyses and recommend appropriate corrective actions
- Participate in delivery planning, effort estimation, and the management of risks, dependencies and technical impacts associated with initiatives
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the platform by proposing and implementing optimizations related to performance, stability, automation, observability and DevSecOps practices

What you bring to the table
- University certificate in computer science, software engineering or in a related field
- A minimum of eight years of relevant experience in software development, including at least six years with the Guidewire platform and three years in a technical leadership, lead developer or application architect role
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Guidewire ACE certification required
- Knowledge of French is required
- Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
- Expertise in REST/SOAP services, XML and JSON
- Expertise in delivering complex Guidewire solutions
- Proficiency in Guidewire, Gosu and Java
- Proficiency in application architecture, systems integration and cloud-based environments
- Knowledge of Agile, DevOps and CI/CD practices, as well as source code management tools
- Knowledge of property and casualty insurance
