About the role

As a Software Developer at WHC, you'll play a key role in building, improving, and expanding our internal and external platforms to help small businesses thrive online. While your primary focus will be backend development, this role also includes occasional frontend work using JavaScript and jQuery to support end-to-end feature delivery.

What you'll do

• Build new features and improvements for WHC's management platform (ERP)
• Build and enhance our client-facing web platform
• Troubleshoot and resolve bugs in our production environment
• Build APIs using Laravel
• Improve our Managed WordPress hosting application, including developing custom WordPress plugins
• Leverage AI and Machine Learning in service to our clients
• Collaborate across teams to deliver seamless full-stack solutions when needed

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with PHP web development
• 2+ years of experience working with JavaScript and jQuery
• 4+ years of experience with MySQL and writing complex SQL queries
• Experience with code versioning tools such as Git
• Knowledge of Bash scripting and command-line server management (an asset)
• Completed at least a 3-year university-level degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Good working knowledge of English (written and spoken) to be able to communicate with our international teams
• Must pass a security background check
