Job Description

In collaboration with the Pricing Manager, the person in this role actively contributes to the definition and implementation of pricing policies and acts as a key decision-maker for pricing strategies across the markets under their responsibility. The primary objective is to maximize Revenue per Available Seat Mile (RASM) while ensuring Air Transat’s competitive positioning.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, develop, recommend, communicate and implement pricing strategies and policies, particularly in the context of interline partnerships and code-sharing agreements, in order to maximize network revenues.
  • Manage Special Prorate Agreements and create pricing structures for routes within existing or new agreements.
  • Ensure the attractiveness and competitiveness of Air Transat’s fares by maintaining a constant watch on market and competitive evolutions, supported by fare monitoring, market intelligence and the analysis and manipulation of large data sets.
  • Determine the most optimal fare implementation methods, considering existing fare structures, ATPCO coding functionalities and fare database cost considerations.
  • Participate in the definition of fare levels and fare conditions by distribution channel, based on customer segmentation, company revenue targets, competitive environment and overall route performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to brainstorm, recommend and implement effective pricing solutions.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and suggest creative approaches to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop reports and presentations to communicate analyses, findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Understand and analyze the dynamics of the assigned markets; stay informed on competitive strategies, new technological opportunities and innovative trends within the airline industry.
  • Oversee a defined geographic portfolio while working closely as part of a team (working in pairs, daily exchange of best practices, etc.), ensuring effective development, monitoring and communication of pricing strategies to management and teammates.
  • Monitor and ensure a thorough, factual follow-up of the performance of implemented pricing strategies and promotional offers.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in all pricing and fare distribution tools and systems.
  • Recommend improvements to work methods and processes to optimize productivity within the department.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Systems or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the airline industry as a Pricing Analyst and/or in Fare Implementation.
  • Advanced analytical and synthesis skills, with strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize work effectively and handle high-volume workloads.
  • High level of autonomy, rigor, initiative and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Oral and written fluency in French and English *

Technological requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel; strong knowledge of GDS systems, ATPCO coding, Infare and DDS/CIRIUM (asset); demonstrated ease with digital and analytical tools.

A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The person in this role will be required to communicate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers and other stakeholders in Quebec, across Canada and internationally.
