This Position reports to:
Production ManagerThe Quality Assurance Specialist supports the deployment of the quality strategy for the local organizational unit, fostering a strong quality culture, implementing effective systems and tools, and building competent teams. This role ensures customer expectations are met and exceeded through a balanced approach of prevention, continuous improvement, robust root cause analysis, and sustainable problem-solving. The position collaborates across functions to drive quality performance and contribute to world-class operational excellence.
Core ResponsibilitiesQuality Operations & Process Support- Provide on-floor support across manufacturing, warehouse, and technical operations.
- Conduct regular process adherence checks to ensure ISO documentation is properly maintained.
- Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to align documentation and support process improvements.
- Track, document, and report quality metrics and KPIs (e.g., defect rates, nonconformances, audit findings).
- Develop and update quality procedures, testing protocols, and risk management practices.
- Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and compliance.
- Collect and analyze data related to non-conforming materials and internal deviations.
- Inspect received inventory parts for compliance with specifications.
- Investigate root causes of non-conformances and document findings.
- Create and maintain NCRs in the quality system; communicate status and resolutions to internal teams.
- Lead cross-functional investigations and corrective actions for process anomalies.
- Conduct First Article Inspections (FAI); interpret engineering and manufacturing drawings.
- Perform incoming inspections of selected materials and components; maintain inspection logs.
- Support internal audits to assess compliance with defined systems and standards.
- Provide guidance and training on the Autodesk Build Quality platform used for SNAG capture and KPI generation.
- Assist production teams with platform utilization and troubleshooting.
- Maintain educational documentation and user guides for Autodesk Build.
- Support the deployment of quality management strategies and objectives within the local ABB unit.
- Collaborate with management to shape functional design and development.
- Promote a zero-defect vision and preventive quality mindset across teams.
- Implement and evaluate operational approaches and process management systems.
- Drive cross-functional initiatives to improve quality performance across units.
- Diploma or degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial quality role.
- Strong understanding of ISO standards, quality systems, and root cause analysis tools.) (e.g., 5 Whys, 8D, Fishbone diagrams).
- Experience with Autodesk Build or similar digital quality platforms is an asset.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and training skills.
