Relevant du directeur du groupe de conception des composants, vous serez un acteur clé de l’équipe des Composants Photonique Haute Vitesse (HSPC). Plus précisément, vous serez responsable de la conception de divers composants photoniques en cours de développement dans le groupe HSPC. Cela comprendra la modélisation optique des composants, la définition des spécifications en collaboration avec l’équipe modem, la planification des plans d’expérience, ainsi que l’analyse des résultats de ces plans afin de confirmer et d’optimiser la conception pour répondre aux exigences de performance. Dans ce rôle, vous devrez interagir étroitement avec les autres membres du groupe HSPC et avec d’autres équipes internes de R&D. Cet environnement de pointe, visant à concevoir les produits optiques les plus performants au monde, vous motivera et vous maintiendra à l’avant-garde. 

Ce qu’il sera attendu de vous: 

  • Développer une compréhension approfondie des composants photoniques intégrés de Ciena afin de concevoir de nouvelles architectures optiques innovantes ; 

  • Collaborer avec les équipes de tests, de conception RF et de conception de puces pour définir les spécifications fonctionnelles ; 

  • Planifier les plans d’expérience pour s’assurer que tous les paramètres critiques de conception sont respectés, tout en optimisant l’utilisation des ressources et l’efficacité des tests ; 

  • Suivre, documenter et communiquer les progrès et soulever les enjeux potentiels pouvant affecter la fonctionnalité du produit ou les délais visés ; 

  • Participer et organiser des revues de conception, assurer la documentation et les suivis ; 

  • Effectuer les tests de validation de conception (DVT) sur les prototypes et les produits finaux pour s’assurer que la conception atteint les performances cibles et fournir les résultats au client interne; 

  • Interagir avec d’autres groupes externes (groupes de NPI et opérations) pour transférer la conception développée vers un environnement de production. 

Exigences: 

  • Baccalauréat en ingénierie ou dans une discipline connexe, avec un minimum de 4 ans d’expérience dans un environnement technologique orienté vers le développement de produits 

  • Une expérience et/ou des connaissances dans les domaines suivants: composants photoniques intégrés haute vitesse, mesure de composants photoniques, conception optique 

  • Capacité à organiser efficacement le travail dans un environnement multitâche et dynamique, fortement orienté par les échéanciers de développement 

  • Capacités proactives de prise de décision et de résolution de problèmes, avec un sens aigu de l'initiative et de l'innovation. 

  • Capacité à communiquer clairement (de façon concise), de manière proactive et orientée vers les solutions. 

Atouts: 

  • Un diplôme de maîtrise ou plus 

  • Maîtrise des tests de validation de conception (DVT) et de l'analyse statistique 

  • Expérience en optimisation des contraintes thermomécaniques et en procédés d'assemblage de circuits intégrés 

  • Connaissance des outils d'analyse par éléments finis tels qu'ANSYS

Reporting to the Director of Component Design, you will be a key member of the High Speed ​​Photonic Components (HSPC) team. Specifically, you will be responsible for the design of various photonic components under development within the HSPC group. This will include optical modeling of the components, defining specifications in collaboration with the modem team, planning experimental designs, and analyzing the results of these plans to validate and optimize the design to meet performance requirements. In this role, you will interact closely with other members of the HSPC group and with other internal R&D teams. This cutting-edge environment, focused on designing the world's highest-performing optical products, will motivate you and keep you at the forefront of your field. 

How You Will Contribute: 

  • Develop a deep understanding of Ciena's integrated photonic components to design innovative new optical architectures 

  • Collaborate with the test, RF design, and chip design teams to define functional specifications 

  • Plan experiments to ensure all critical design parameters are met, while optimizing resource utilization and test efficiency 

  • Track, document, and communicate progress and identify potential issues that could affect product functionality or target timelines 

  • Participate in and lead design reviews, ensuring documentation and follow-up 

  • Perform Design Validation Testing (DVT) on prototypes and final products to ensure the design achieves target performance and deliver results to the internal customer; 

  • Interact with other external groups (NPI and operations groups) to transfer the developed design to a production environment. 

The Must Haves: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of experience in technology-oriented product development. 

  • Knowledge or experience in high-speed integrated photonic components, measurement of photonic components, and optical design. 

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment driven by product development schedules. 

  • Proactive decision-making and problem-solving capabilities with a keen sense of initiative and innovation. 

  • Effective communication skills, with a focus on synthesis and solutions-oriented dialogue. 

 Assets: 

  • Master’s degree or higher in engineering or related discipline. 

  • Familiarity with design validation testing (DVT) and statistical analysis. 

  • Experience with thermo-mechanical stresses optimization and IC assembly processes. 

  • Knowledge of finite element analysis tools such as ANSYS. 

 

Pay Range:

The annual salary range for this position is $84,700 - $135,300

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
