Job Description

Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, the Director, Procurement & Strategic Sourcing – Regional Coordination plays a critical role in delivering the Company’s Supply Chain strategy. The position is accountable for driving measurable cost, service, and risk improvements while supporting the Company’s objectives of revenue growth, cost management, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Category Leadership

  • Lead and oversee strategic sourcing activities across key and complex categories, ensuring delivery of agreed savings, service, and risk management benefits.
  • Personally lead highly complex and high-value sourcing initiatives to deliver optimal commercial and strategic outcomes.
  • Ensure sourcing decisions deliver competitive pricing, high service and quality standards, and minimal supply and commercial risk.
  • Manage total spend across assigned categories, ensuring transparency, compliance, and value optimization.
  • Stay current on strategic sourcing trends and best-practice methodologies, embedding them into procurement ways of working.

Regional Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Act as the primary procurement partner to regional operations and corporate functions, ensuring alignment with business priorities.
  • Develop strong, trust-based relationships with senior stakeholders to support successful delivery of sourcing and supply chain initiatives.
  • Establish and sustain effective interfaces between Strategic Sourcing, Category Management, Warehousing, Operations, and Finance to ensure smooth handover and realization of benefits.
  • Balance standardization with appropriate regional flexibility to meet business needs.

Procure-to-Pay (P2P) & Process Excellence

  • Drive continuous improvement of procure-to-pay processes, focusing on simplification, standardization, compliance, and user experience.
  • Implement and sustain leading-practice procurement frameworks, tools, and templates to improve efficiency and decision-making.
  • Enhance spend visibility and performance through clear KPIs and reporting.

CAPEX process and  commercial optimization

  • Support supplier and market intelligence on process, and performance assessment + delivery assurance
  • Commercial risk management assessment
  • Cost control as part of scope negotiation (Bid optimization, negotiation of scope, synergies)

Digital Transformation & Analytics

  • Support and actively contribute to the digital transformation of the procurement function, including e-sourcing, contract management, and P2P platforms.
  • Act as a business leader in procurement system implementations and upgrades.
  • Embed data-driven decision-making and promote the use of analytics to drive sourcing, supplier, and performance outcomes.

Supplier Risk & Performance Management

  • Be accountable for Supplier Risk Management across the Supply Chain function.
  • Ensure appropriate risk assessment, mitigation strategies, and supplier performance management processes are in place and sustained.
  • Strengthen relationships with strategic suppliers to support continuity, innovation, and long-term value creation.

Warehousing & Inventory Leadership

  • Provide functional leadership to the Warehouse Manager to ensure alignment between procurement, inventory, and operational requirements.
  • Support improvements in inventory optimization, service levels, and working capital performance.

People Leadership & Capability Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop the Strategic Sourcing and Warehouse teams to build a high-performing, engaged function.
  • Implement development plans to strengthen sourcing, negotiation, and commercial capabilities.
  • Create and promote a recognized Centre of Excellence in Strategic Sourcing.
  • Foster a culture of cost consciousness, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

 

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business, Law, Supply Chain, or a related discipline (MBA or equivalent preferred).
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, and/or Supply Chain Management, along with management capacity.
  • Proven track record of delivering year-on-year savings, service improvements, and risk mitigation benefits.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver multiple complex sourcing projects simultaneously.
  • Significant experience in sourcing critical and complex spend categories (industry-specific experience such as mining/materials extraction considered a strong asset, where applicable).
  • Strong understanding of procure-to-pay processes and digital procurement tools.

Preferred

  • Professional certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPIM, PMP, SCMP).
  • Knowledge of global sourcing, sustainability procurement, and risk‑mitigation strategies.
