About this opportunity:
As a Board Power Design Engineer, you will contribute to the power solutions that enable Ericsson's radio, baseband and network router products to perform reliably in demanding telecom environments.
You will be part of a hardware development team in Beijing, working on board-level power design from concept through verification and maintenance for high-volume network products.
This is an opportunity for an experienced power electronics engineer to apply their DC/DC converter expertise, work closely with cross-functional teams, and continuously improve product performance, robustness and efficiency.
What you will do:
  • Design board-level power solutions for radio, baseband and network router products.
  • Develop DC/DC power solutions including lightning protection, polarity protection, hot-swap circuitry, EMC filters, power stages and control loops.
  • Perform circuit simulation, power loss calculation and margin analysis to ensure robust designs.
  • Design isolated and non-isolated DC/DC converters, drive task forces for performance improvement and lead verification activities.
  • Create and review schematics, and guide PCB engineers on placement and routing for optimal layout quality.
  • Prepare design documentation including schematics, layout files, margin analyses, signal plans and verification plans/reports.
  • Support released products with maintenance tasks and root cause analysis of power-related issues.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware, digital, mechanical, thermal and software design teams to deliver integrated solutions.

The skills you bring:
  • Bachelor's degree or above in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Automation, or a related field.
  • Solid knowledge of power electronics and familiarity with at least one DC/DC converter topology such as BUCK, BOOST, BUCK/BOOST, FLYBACK, Forward, Half-bridge or Full-bridge.
  • Hands-on experience using lab equipment including DC power sources, oscilloscopes, electronic loads, LISN and loop analyzers for design and verification.
  • Ability to perform circuit simulations, power loss calculations and margin analyses for board power designs.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, "can-do" attitude, with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams (HW, digital, mechanics, thermal, SW).
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English; CET-6 or above (or equivalent level).
  • Nice to have: experience in electronics components reliability control and failure analysis.
  • Nice to have: knowledge of semiconductor packaging technologies and processes.
