Job Description

Under direct supervision, the Associate Specialist, EH&S is responsible for Employee Health & Safety programs/initiatives and worker’s compensation compliance within the warehouse.

 

While reporting directly to the Manager, EH&S, this position will also have a dotted‑line reporting relationship to the Terrebonne Site Lead.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsibilities are managed at a national level in order to provide consistent and comprehensive support across all locations.
  • Maintain compliant safety programs.
  • Assist in implementation of safety initiatives.
  • Support facilities in conducting incident investigations.
  • Ensure the coordination and delivery of all required Health & Safety training in the warehouse, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in Safety Committee meetings.
  • Partner with HR and Workers Compensation representatives for claim follow-up.
  • Gather information for EHS Managers for compliance reporting.
  • Maintain regulatory documents (environmental, safety).
  • Prepare reports and communications related to EHS.
  • In collaboration with Human Resources, participates in the national orientation program for new hires, ensuring a consistent onboarding experience across all locations.
  • Monitors and ensures the completion and ongoing maintenance of the training matrix, as well as the EHS portal, including the accurate upload and tracking of all required documentation at a national level.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in safety, environmental health, business, or related field OR High School diploma and at least 2 years of safety experience.
  • Experience applying applicable provincial health and safety legislation, nationally.
  • Position requires exposure to the environmental/atmospheric conditions: Indoor conditions, cold/hot temperature changes, wet, noise, vibration, fumes, odors, dust and mechanical / electrical / chemical hazards.
  • Position requires travel up to 20% of the time to sites across Canada.
  • CNESST - certified first aider, an asset
  • Bilingual in French & English required due to national scope of the role.

Sous supervision directe, le/la Spécialiste adjoint, SSE (Santé, sécurité et environnement) est responsable des programmes et initiatives en santé et sécurité des employés ainsi que de la conformité en matière d’indemnisation des travailleurs au sein de l’entrepôt.

Relevant directement du/de la Gestionnaire, SST, ce poste comporte également un lien hiérarchique fonctionnel (ligne pointillée) avec le/la Responsable du site de Terrebonne.

Responsabilités :

Les responsabilités sont gérées à l’échelle nationale afin d’assurer un soutien cohérent et complet à l’ensemble des sites.

  • Maintenir des programmes de santé et sécurité conformes

  • Participer à la mise en œuvre des initiatives en sécurité.

  • Soutenir les sites dans la réalisation des enquêtes à la suite d’incidents.

  • Assurer la coordination et la prestation de toutes les formations obligatoires en santé et sécurité dans l’entrepôt, conformément aux exigences réglementaires.

  • Participer aux réunions du comité de santé et sécurité.

  • Collaborer avec les équipes de ressources humaines et les représentants en indemnisation des travailleurs pour le suivi des dossiers de réclamation.

  • Recueillir l’information requise pour les gestionnaires SST aux fins de rapports de conformité.

  • Tenir à jour la documentation réglementaire (environnement, santé et sécurité).

  • Préparer les rapports et communications liés à la santé, la sécurité et l’environnement (SSE).

  • En collaboration avec les Ressources humaines, participer au programme national d’intégration des nouveaux employés afin d’assurer une expérience d’accueil uniforme à l’échelle nationale.

  • Surveiller et assurer la complétion ainsi que la mise à jour continue de la matrice de formation et du portail SSE, incluant le téléversement précis et le suivi de toute la documentation requise à l’échelle nationale.

Qualifications :

  • Baccalauréat en santé et sécurité, en santé environnementale, en administration des affaires ou dans un domaine connexe OU diplôme d’études secondaires et au moins 2 ans d’expérience en santé et sécurité.

  • Expérience dans l’application de la législation provinciale en santé et sécurité au travail, dans un contexte national.

  • Le poste comporte une exposition aux conditions environnementales suivantes : milieux intérieurs, variations de température (froid/chaleur), humidité, bruit, vibrations, fumées, odeurs, poussières, ainsi qu’à des risques mécaniques, électriques et chimiques.

  • Déplacements requis jusqu’à 20% du temps vers des sites à travers le Canada.

  • Certificat de secouriste (CNESST), un atout.

  • Bilinguisme français/anglais requis en raison de la portée nationale du rôle.

The anticipated salary range for this position:

$62,200.00 - $93,200.00 Annual
