Mandate

  • Procure ocean freight rates for import and export USA trades
  • Maintain ocean contracts and ensure filing compliance with FMC
  • Review RFQ’s, validate and negotiate ocean freight rates and terms with carriers
  • Manage escalations with carriers for invoice correctors, diversions, capacity protection and agreements with suppliers
  • Implement corporate carrier strategy, working with other peers from Global Ocean Freight Procurement team
  • Procure intermodal rates as needed
  • Promote a win/win philosophy with ocean carriers and intermodal providers

Requirements

  • Minimum 2  years of experience in the procurement of ocean freight (buying or selling)
  • Experience working for a freight forwarder or ocean carrier is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in management, business administration or logistics management is an asset
