As an analyst, you will be an essential role in our team, working closely with the team leader to achieve the ambitious goals of our company. This is the perfect opportunity to bring your skills to life, explore new perspectives, and make your mark in the exciting world of actuarial science.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the launch and development of our various group and individual products
  • Conduct trend studies and participate in the annual renewal of our numerous products
  • Analyze the financial performance of various strategic initiatives, followed by the development of strategic recommendations to optimize them
  • Support pricing and sales teams, actively participating in strategic decision-making for acquiring new clients
  • Design interactive reports (Power BI) to track the financial performance and growth of our activities
  • Develop studies and tools to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the company's financial health
  • Corporate development opportunities: Monthly evaluation of reserves under IFRS 17, FCT, assumption review, and support to produce the report of the designated actuary

As the ideal candidate, you possess the following qualifications:

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in actuarial science
  • Have successfully completed ASA or ACIA designation will be considered an asset
  • Have two (2) years of relevant experience in actuarial work
  • Experience in group and/or individual insurance is an asset
  • Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Excel
  • Knowledge of databases and search tools (SQL)
  • Familiarity with Power BI software and proficiency in Visual Basic are valued assets
  • Proficient English is required to perform the duties of this role
  • Explanation:  English proficiency is required to perform the duties of the role, which include daily collaboration with teams and partners outside Québec who operate primarily in English

Salary grade: 61,221 - 84,178 (CAD)

The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and education/training. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs.
