Job Description:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a driven and ambitious sales leader to drive results with one of the most forward-looking asset management firms in Canada. 

This external role works within wealth distribution under the brand of Sun Life Global Investments.

What will you do?

  • Conduct face to face meetings with key IIROC / Full-Service Brokerage, MFDA, and MGA advisors and team members - including but not limited to providing thought leadership, practice management and portfolio analysis promoting SLGI’s product line-up.

  • Achieve sales targets for all products (mutual funds, segregated funds, annuities) by leveraging your established relationships while prospecting for new advisor relationships.

  • Develop and execute on an unmatched advisor experience conducted via sales meetings and investor seminars.

  • Represent and promote Sun Life Global Investments in the local financial community by developing strong business relationships with advisors and industry associations.

  • Create and implement a thorough territory coverage plan.

Business Sales Strategies

  • Develop and execute a strategic business plan to achieve sales results and increase market share.

  • Identify sales opportunities through new or existing partnerships.

  • Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and industry developments to inform sales strategies and identify new business opportunities.

Teamwork & Leadership

  • Provide leadership to your team consisting of the Wealth Sales Representative and Wealth Sales Coordinator

  • Cultivate a positive and collaborative team environment within regional and national team.

  • Work with Regional Vice President, and fellow Wealth Sales Directors to define, promote and share best practices.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of IIROC/FSB/MFDA/MGA industry sales experience

  • University Degree or equivalent industry education

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing market share

  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

  • Strong knowledge of mutual funds, investment products, and financial markets

  • Extensive knowledge of Wealth Management industry and the competitive landscape

  • Ability to think and respond quickly, able to adapt to change within a rapidly growing and complex area of personal financial services

  • Bilingualism (French, English, both oral and written) is required for the frequent interactions with English and French-speaking colleagues or internal partners across Canada.

  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Professional Financial Planner (PFP), Chartered Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Investment Management (CIM) designations are an asset

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance. Certain sales focused roles have sales incentive plans based on individual or group sales results.
