The opportunity:

The Wealth Planner supports Manulife Wealth’s independent advisors to enhance their delivery of wealth planning solutions to their clients.  This role operates on a national basis with a team-based approach.  The incumbent will leverage their financial planning expertise, digital tools, and soft skills to create financial plans and enable our clients to make better financial decisions. This role interfaces directly with clients, advisors, and other internal partners to develop and deliver financial plans and recommendations for implementation.

Responsibilities:

  • Support advisors with expertise in financial planning to create comprehensive financial plans on their behalf for their clients
  • Conduct meaningful client discoveries in a manner that fosters rapport and trust
  • Create financial plans in Conquest that address the clients goals, needs, priorities, and values
  • Identify issues, opportunities, and strategies in all areas of financial planning including retirement, tax, insurance, and estate planning
  • Collaborate with Insurance Consultants, Tax and Estate Planner, and other internal partners to provide required expertise and implementation
  • Present financial plans to clients in a manner that reduces complexity
  • Key contributor to the client experience, owning key action items and steps in the planning process including end communication
  • Strong ability to prioritize resources and deliverables based on caseloads and client meeting schedule
  • Maintain clear records of client notes, inputs, and planning recommendations
  • Maintain ongoing expertise with industry related matters, rules and regulations that impact financial planning strategies and recommendations
  • Carrying out independent research to ensure issues and opportunities within the plan are addressed
  • Promote the adoption of wealth planning software in line with Manulife’s strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Practice Management and Wealth Planning Services team to gather and share advisor feedback
  • Provide secondary support to wealth planning software users including answering questions and modeling a broad range of wealth planning concepts and strategies.

Qualifications:

  • 5 to 8 years experience developing comprehensive financial plans
  • University Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in a Financial Services role
  • Financial planning designation (e.g., CFP® or Pl. Fin.) is required
  • Additional designations such as CLU, TEP, CA, CPA are an asset
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical information to a non-technical audience.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Team player.

  • You have a deep understanding of financial services and wealth management.
  • Confidence, maturity and credibility to interact with senior-level business leaders and top advisors.

  • The successful candidate will be required to communicate in English and French in order to support clients from various jurisdictions outside of Quebec.​

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,900.00 CAD - $142,900.00 CAD
