You'll be the strategic financial partner to the leadership team, guiding the company through the complexities of growth while ensuring strong financial controls, forecasting, and risk management. Leading our finance team, you’ll bring financial clarity to decision-making, optimize processes, and position us for long-term success.

What You'll Be Doing (Responsibilities)
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Own the financial planning & analysis (FP&A) function, including forecasting, budgeting, and reporting.
- Partner with leadership to drive financial strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Lead financial risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
Operational Finance
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations, including accounting, payroll, and cash flow management.
- Develop and maintain robust financial controls and compliance frameworks.
- Optimize financial processes to enhance efficiency and scalability.
Business Partnership & Decision Support
- Provide data-driven insights to support executive decision-making.
- Work closely with revenue, marketing, and operations teams to drive profitability and cost optimization.
- Lead financial modeling to support business cases for new initiatives, partnerships, and investments.
Growth & Funding
- Support the leadership team in potential fundraising, M&A, or strategic investment initiatives.
- Build strong relationships with external partners such as banks, investors, and auditors.
Leadership & Team Development
- Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Establish and refine financial processes to support the next phase of BWZ’s growth.

Your Skillset Includes
- 8+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or FP&A, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- CPA, CFA, or MBA preferred but not required.
- Proven experience in high-growth companies, ideally in media, tech, or digital businesses.
- Strong background in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Expertise in accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance.
- Ability to lead and execute financial process improvements.
- Strong stakeholder management and ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
- Proficiency in financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite), financial reporting/dashboard tools, and google sheets.
Nice to Haves
- Experience in M&A, fundraising, or investor relations.
- Knowledge of digital media, SaaS, or content-driven business models.
- Familiarity with international financial operations.
Salary Statement:
This full time position is available as either a remote or hybrid position, with an annual salary in the range of $160,000 to $220,000 CAD. The range is a guide for the expected skills, knowledge and experience for new hires based in Canada only. Seniority level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. This means ranges will vary for candidates based outside of Canada and/or at different seniority levels. In addition to annual salary, full time employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
