Job Responsibilities:
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Must have proven mechanical aptitude. Actual die experience is an asset.
2. Able and willing to perform trained designated maintenance tasks which may include use of machines, power tools and many different hand tools. Can demonstrate skills through testing.
3. Industrial experience considered an asset.
4. Ability to lift/pull/push up to 40lbs.
5. Must be able to work all 3 shifts.
6. Must successfully obtain and maintain crane and forklift license.
DUTIES:
2. Repairs/maintains/inspects designated dies/machinery/equipment.
3. Notifies Area Leader/Lead Hand of replacement parts/fluids as required for preventative maintenance and/or repair.
4. Completes PMs within proven ability as assigned by Team Leader.
5. Flexible to work on many projects simultaneously, able to prioritize. Be flexible and open to changes in assignment to provide support to other areas of the department.
6. Takes part in the continuous improvement process to improve productivity and quality (provides suggestions, participates in problem-solving, volunteers on committee or focus group activities, etc.) and focuses on solutions. Ex. 3x5Why and FAST Response.
7. Ensures the on-going safety of machines before and after assisting with any repairs.
8. Reviews concerns and problems from previous shifts.
9. Assists Tool Room to ensure dies are green tagged and ready to run.
10. Assists Production with change overs / coil changes as required.
11. Monitors part quality (TA) and ensures concerns are evaluated if PM is completed(dies).
12. Follows and adheres to requirements of current customer quality and environmental management systems standards.
13. Ensures that data entered into eMaint system is correct, accurate, and on time
14. Comes to work each day, as scheduled.
15. Approaches each day and each challenge with a positive attitude.
16. Conducts themselves in a professional manner when receiving or giving feedback/information, whether it is positive or constructive.
17. Supports and models the Presstran operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook and "How We Work Together", Magna Employee's Charter, Magna Corporate Constitution.
18. Follows and complies with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environmental programs (e.g., ISO/IATF-16949, ISO14001).
19. Required to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the OHSA. Follows and ensures the Company's procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout their assigned area.
20. Takes pride in keeping their work area clean and tidy.
21. Other duties as required.

RESPONSIBILITY AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
The Tool Room Support is a position that enables the Tool Room journeyperson with duties as required. The TR support will be trained to carry out tasks that support the journeyperson but are not considered safety/technical or trade specific. An example many be routing wires in a die, opening and flipping a die, replacing a damaged punch, removing a section from a die, welding a broken idle station. The TR support independently carries out work orders/directives, with in his or her proven skills and training, using written/graphic/verbal instructions, provided by the tool room Area Leader/Lead Hand to support the Tool Room journeyperson. The TR Support requires good communication skills to exchange/collect information. The position may require the incumbent to work in confined/awkward positions with exposure to elements such as noise, temperature, or heights. The TR Support may be considered a first step in the process to becoming a skilled trade apprentice.
