Group Summary:
The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Collect, clean, and analyze production and performance data across various WCM pillars (e.g., Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Environment)
  • Experience with data collection, and KPI dashboards in manufacturing settings using Excel & Power BI
  • Create automated data pipelines and reports to track KPIs and WCM project progress
  • Assist in root cause analysis and data-driven problem-solving activities
  • Support time studies, loss analysis, and performance diagnostics using historical and live data
  • Collaborate with WCM pillar leads, engineering, production, and IT teams to identify digital improvement opportunities
  • Use tools like Python, R, or SQL (if applicable) to run predictive models or advanced data analysis
  • Document processes and develop training materials for knowledge transfer and sustainability
  • Implement continuous improvement projects to address quality, material flow, through-put and productivity improvements
  • Lead efforts to incorporate new concepts into existing systems with particular emphasis on process repeatability, consistency, quality controls and automation, and cost reduction
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace
  • Comply with the requirements of CTPAT/PIP
  • Conduct business in an ethical manner in compliance with the Magna Code of Conduct
  • Report all accidents/incidents and unsafe conditions/behavior
  • Adhere to applicable quality systems and IATF 16949 standards
  • Adhere to and promote the Employee Charter and work within the rules, regulations and guidelines of the Plastcoat Employee Handbook
  • Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards
  • Ensure work area is kept neat and organized
  • Perform other duties as required

EDUCATION:
  • Pursuing University degree in Data Science/ Industrial Engineering/Computer Science/Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in moulding/assembly preferred
  • Experience in automotive industry an asset
  • Assignments in various manufacturing departments will be considered an asset
  • Experience with automation controls, mechanical and process engineering considered a plus

  • Thinks conceptually and intuitively from a lean perspective
  • Drives for continuous improvement
  • Computer literate in word and spreadsheet programs
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems
  • Strong interpersonal skills & self-motivated
