Job Description

The Technology Services Group and Human Resources Services are internal functions providing global operations and business support across Brookfield Asset Management business segments.

Position Summary

This role sits within the Technology Services Group (TSG), in which the Strategic Sourcing Manager will report to the Director, Strategic Sourcing. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for:

  • Developing and managing the Application Sourcing Category strategy

  • Leading the Application Strategic Sourcing process (end-to-end)

  • Managing the contract lifecycle for various Application Vendors

  • Managing Vendor-Client relationships

  • Delivering Business value-based Sourcing services

  • Ensuring clarity of communication (written and verbal)
     

Responsibilities

  • Ability to understand the business priorities and objectives, and develop innovative Sourcing strategies to support them

  • Proactively identifying opportunities for further cost optimization and operational efficiencies within current and new 3rd party arrangements

  • Staying abreast of new 3rd party offerings and changes within the incumbent landscape

  • Packaging and presenting relevant market insights to the Operational and business stakeholders

  • Prioritize and resolve inquiries and escalations pertaining to Vendor-Contract related matters

  • Leading the RFx process and Contract Management activities through a structured and well documented approach

  • Manage the full Sourcing lifecycle;

    • Understand the business problem

    • Effectively communicate and form agreement with the stakeholders on the end-to-end process, timelines, dependencies, etc.

    • Manage requirements gathering

    • Vet the Proponents

    • Package and issue the RFP, and ensure timely updates to the evaluation team and stakeholders

    • Lead and perform commercial negotiations with rigor and expediency

    • Analyze and document gaps and opportunities between proponent proposals to ensure informed decisions and a well managed Vendor selection process

    • Present RFx results and recommendations to obtain buy-in and approvals from stakeholders and leadership

    • Manage Vendor onboarding (i.e. Vendor Risk Assessment, Financial review, Project requirements, etc.)

    • Perform annual contract reviews

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Minimum 3-year degree or diploma in Business Management, Finance, or related discipline, OR 5-7 years’ experience in Application Sourcing and Category Management, specifically in the following categories:

    • Investor Relations

    • Treasury

    • Financial Planning and Analytics (FP&A)

    • AI, Data & Automation (RPA, Workflows, Integration)

    • Market Data (Financial, Real Estate, etc.)

  • Analyze, model, and present large data sets using Excel/PowerBI

  • Identify and negotiate 3rd party contract terms to minimize legal and commercial risk and exposure to Brookfield

  • Inquisitive, self-motivated, confident to operate outside one’s comfort zone

  • Possess effective listening, comprehension, and impactful communication skills

  • Expert in building and presenting PowerPoint presentations to business stakeholders and executives

  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects and deliverables

  • Familiarity with Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) framework ais an asset

  • Possessing a Certified Procurement Professional (CPP) or Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is an asset

  • This role is based out of Brookfield Place (Toronto) and does not require any travelling
