Job Summary
We are seeking an important enabler for our highly skilled agile software development teams and therefore a critical factor to the overall success of the organization. In this role, you will coach and mentor your development teams, act as an enabler of process, support escalations, liaise with Architecture, and work closely with Product Management to help design and implement features while meeting your release goals. A right candidate possesses strong passion for software development and thrives in an environment of change. You are also laser-focused on quality and release predictability. Responsibilities
- Responsible for 8-12 direct reports, including career management, productivity measurement and conflict resolution.
- Oversee the development and delivery of custom software projects and integrations for new and existing customers within prescribed schedules.
- Ensure that the teams are following corporate processes, including addressing tasks in priority order. Work to improve processes and efficiency continually.
- Support the augmentation of team headcount through sub-contracting. On-board and integrate partner resources into design teams as needed.
- Collaborate on the estimation, quoting and planning of new custom software/solution opportunities.
- Coordinate and track responses to field support requests within owned technical areas as needed.
- Act as the escalation point for inter-team communication.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience managing, leading, coaching, and mentoring individuals and teams.
- Experience in enterprise software development and delivery.
- Thorough grasp of all aspects of software architecture, toolset and lifecycle.
- Extensive experience with Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with software development best practices.
- Working knowledge of version control systems (Git) and high-level programming languages (C#, Java).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Team player – Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Eager to learn both as part of a team and self-directed learning.
- Ability to attain and maintain a top-secret security clearance.
- Ability to enable your team to carry out delegated responsibilities and tasks effectively.
- Ability to manage several initiatives concurrently.
- Comfortable working effectively with customers, sr. executives, and other stakeholders.
- Broad technical knowledge and ability to pick up a strategic understanding of new technologies.
- Meaningful experience within the software development services industry.
- Must be eligible for up to a Top Secret Security Clearance.
