What will you do as an Vision Software Manager?
The Vision Software Manager will lead the development and implementation of our computer vision software solutions.  The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of software engineers, designing and developing vision software applications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business growth.
The Vision Software Manager will report to the Senior Vision Software Manager and will lead an assigned team of Vision Software Engineers.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of computer vision software applications, including object detection, image processing, and machine learning algorithms
  • Manage a team of software engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback to ensure successful project delivery
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and sales, to identify business requirements and develop software solutions that meet customer needs
  • Design and implement software architectures, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery
  • Conduct code reviews, ensure coding standards, and implement best practices for software development
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activity, applying this knowledge to inform software development strategies
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and resource plans to ensure effective use of resources
  • Establish standards and guidelines for the Vision Engineering Team
  • Proactively contribute to and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Travel and on-site customer visits may be required
  • Adheres to LMI Employee Policy Manual
What do you need to be successful?
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with a focus on computer vision and machine learning
  • 3+ years of experience in managing software development teams
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as C++ and Python
  • Proven knowledge of machine vision and image processing. Experience in 3D inspection a plus
  • Experience with computer vision libraries and frameworks, such as OpenCV, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and Scrum
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing multiple projects and deadlines
  • A valid passport and the ability to travel domestically or internationally

Salary Range: CAD $132K - CAD $180K
