As a senior terminologist, you have the necessary expertise to establish and maintain Desjardins’s terminology (French and English), make appropriate decisions about term management and maintain the organization’s term bases. Your role also involves providing advisory services to internal and external partners; enriching and developing our term bases; helping us maintain a robust, functional and efficient structure for our term bases; using terminology management systems, designing and implementing methods to facilitate and improve consistency in terminology use across the organization; and supporting Desjardins’s translators and other terminologists. Your daily responsibilities may also include term base management activities such as updating, approving and merging term records. More specifically, you will be required to:
Manage and maintain complex term bases, including making updates and improvements, merging term records and purging outdated information
Design and structure unilingual and multilingual term bases according to organizational needs, extract terminology and document best practices
Help employees rigorously apply terminology best practices
Collaborate with content experts to enhance the organization’s vocabulary (definitions, concepts, new terms)
Provide targeted terminology training and strategic advisory support
Implement efficient terminology management processes that are adapted to operational realities and internal workflows
Plan and lead large-scale terminology projects: Analyze needs, design strategies, define workflows and ensure compliance with industry standards
Analyze and assess terminology solutions available on the market to recommend the most relevant tools

What you bring to the table
Bachelor’s degree in translation
A minimum of six years of relevant terminology experience
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Academic specialty in terminology
Advanced Proficiency of French, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with French-speaking partners, members and/or clients
Advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
Knowledge of terminology management tools, data bases and integrated systems
Knowledge of the principles of professional terminology
