Robots & Pencils is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Product Owner to lead the strategy, roadmap, and execution of innovative digital products that deliver meaningful impact to users. This role is ideal for a product leader who is insight-driven, data-inspired, and deeply passionate about user experience and technology solutions.

You will act as the critical point of contact between clients and internal teams, ensuring alignment on vision, priorities, and execution. The ideal candidate combines strategic thinking with hands-on product management expertise, while fostering collaboration across disciplines to deliver exceptional outcomes.

Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Design & Development
  • Define a product strategy and roadmap with prioritized features that align with business goals and user needs

  • Assist in shaping the core product vision, goals, and functional requirements

  • Guide the team through concept-to-experimentation-to-product delivery

  • Drive lean and agile development processes to maximize efficiency in evolving environments

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to scope, build, and launch world-class products

Product Roadmap
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and deliverables in partnership with the UX team

  • Define and deliver MVPs informed by research, scaling them into full-fledged products

  • Create and maintain product roadmaps, feature backlogs, and documentation (PRDs, user stories, use cases, flows, and functional specifications)

Product Management
  • Lead large, complex initiatives while mentoring peers and fostering a collaborative culture

  • Write detailed functional specs to ensure alignment on outcomes and measures of success

  • Prioritize development activities, determine technical implementation paths with engineers, partner with QA for testing, and lead product launches

Stakeholder Management
  • Build buy-in for product strategy with executives and key stakeholders

  • Contribute to team growth through mentoring and sharing knowledge in Pencil Sharpening sessions

  • Work closely within the UX practice, emphasizing teamwork and shared ownership

Required Skills & Experience
  • 7+ years in product management, business analysis, or equivalent roles (BA/BS in a technical field such as Computer Science/Engineering preferred)

  • Proven track record of leading and delivering large, complex products and services

  • Strong background with agile methodologies and understanding of product management across development frameworks

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

  • Ability to simplify, internalize, and communicate complex technical or business concepts

  • Thorough, detail-oriented, and highly organized

  • Deep knowledge of user-driven product design and data-driven refinement

  • Up-to-date awareness of market trends and emerging technologies

  • Strong understanding of user experience, technical, and business considerations

  • Domain expertise in one or more relevant industries
