The role involves preparing pension applications, managing correspondence with regulators, guiding compliance matters, training, and leading compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and provide support in the preparation and submission of pension-related applications requiring approval from the Financial Services Commission.
- Act as a contact with the FSC, proactively managing correspondence, follow-ups, and responses to regulatory queries.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders (sponsoring employers, custodians, registries, advisors) to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of regulatory submissions.
- Provide senior-level guidance and support on pension compliance-related matters to business users, ensuring responses are clear, professional, and aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of compliance training, internal guidelines, and regulatory updates.
- Participate in, and where required lead, compliance reviews, regulatory projects, and process improvement initiatives.
- Perform other senior pensions compliance-related duties and projects as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
- University degree and/or professional qualification in Finance, Law, Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in pensions, compliance, regulatory applications, or a similar role.
- Sound knowledge of pension regulations and FSC regulatory processes (strong advantage).
- Excellent command of English and French, both written and spoken.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and take ownership of deliverables.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight regulatory deadlines.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and adherence to confidentiality and ethical standards.
- Strong team player with the ability to mentor and support junior team members.
