Lazer Commerce is a specialized team within Lazer focused on crafting scalable, high-performing commerce experiences across the Shopify ecosystem. We partner with forward-thinking brands and agencies to design and implement custom storefronts, headless architectures, and robust backend integrations. From theme development to complex ERP and OMS workflows, our engineers bring deep expertise in Shopify, modern frameworks, and commerce infrastructure to help clients launch, scale, and optimize their digital retail experiences.

The Role:

We’re looking for a Senior Front-End Engineer, Shopify, to join our remote team. You’ll collaborate directly with clients to build custom storefronts and user experiences using modern technologies across the Shopify ecosystem. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in front-end development, with a strong focus on performance, scalability, and Shopify best practices.

What You'll Do:

• Build custom Shopify storefronts and themes using Liquid, React, and modern front-end frameworks

• Develop and optimize headless Shopify experiences using Next.js and Remix

• Translate design mockups and business requirements into high-quality, accessible code

• Integrate third-party apps and APIs to enhance store functionality

• Implement and maintain reusable components, custom features, and UI logic

• Collaborate with designers, full-stack developers, and project managers

• Stay up to date with Shopify platform updates and front-end development trends

Who You Are:

• Strong experience with Liquid and custom Shopify theme development

• Solid professional experience building interfaces with React and TypeScript

• Hands-on experience with Remix and Next.js in production environments

• Comfortable working with headless commerce and integrating the Shopify Storefront API

• Strong understanding of front-end performance optimization and accessibility best practices

• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a remote setting

• Detail-oriented and passionate about creating excellent user experiences

Technical Skills We’re Looking For:

• Languages: JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS

• Frameworks: React, Next.js, Remix

• Shopify: Liquid, Storefront API, Theme development

• Tools: Git, Shopify CLI, Postman, VS Code, GitHub Actions

• Styling: Tailwind CSS (nice to have)

Nice to Haves:

• Experience with Hydrogen

• Familiarity with Shopify Functions and Matrixify

• Knowledge of internationalization and localization in e-commerce

• Prior experience at an agency or in a consulting environment

• Understanding of animation libraries or design systems for e-commerce
