Company Description

For over 40 years, LGI Healthcare Solutions has built software that healthcare organizations depend on. AI is now at the heart of that work — not as a destination, but as the engine behind our next generation of mission-critical solutions and our enduring mission: helping healthcare organizations perform at their best.

We're looking for exceptional people who are passionate about technology, relentless in their standards, and driven to push what's possible further.  At LGI, curiosity isn't a nice-to-have, it's how we work.

We're looking for talent who explore and innovate by instinct and want their work to matter beyond the codebase: shaping decisions, enhancing processes, and enabling healthcare practitioners.

Please note that excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills in both French and English are mandatory for this position.

Job Description

Position Summary

The incumbent is a strategic and technology leader who takes ownership of LGI Healthcare Solutions' artificial intelligence innovation lab and common platform engineering ecosystem. Reporting to the Chief Information Technology Officer (CTO), they lead five major domains: internal AI, technical management of AI products, technical management of data products, the design of common AI modules, and AI design partnerships. The Senior Director defines the technical vision, orchestrates the AI engineering teams, aligns AI capabilities with business objectives and positions LGI as a leader in healthcare AI. As a change agent, they inspire their team, drive innovation and work with internal and external stakeholders to design high-impact AI and data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic AI vision and platform federation: Define and articulate the technical and strategic vision for LGI Healthcare Solutions' AI ecosystem and common AI platforms. Develop the multi-year roadmap covering internal AI, AI products, data products and, in collaboration with R&D, AI solution design partnerships, aligned with business priorities. Advise the CTO on emerging trends in AI, data architecture and platform engineering.
  • Internal AI: Establish the foundations of a structured AI adoption program for all employees — awareness, training and upskilling — while measuring improvements in talent performance and efficiency gains. In close collaboration with the culture and talent team, the program defines the required AI competencies, role-based learning paths, tools and platform access (with governance guardrails on responsible use), as well as progress indicators, while providing change support for durable adoption.
  • AI pipelines: In collaboration with R&D, design, tool and evolve the AI pipelines shared across the company's functions. Ensure that AI experiments operate within a rigorous framework of governance, reproducibility and scalability. Foster a culture of applied innovation within the teams under their responsibility, complementing R&D's research teams.
  • Technical management of AI products: In collaboration with R&D and product management, oversee AI products in support of the R&D teams, from design through to production release. Jointly ensure the quality, reliability, security and scalability of AI products delivered to customers and internal users. Ensure AI models are integrated into LGI Healthcare Solutions' software solutions.
  • Technical management of data products: In collaboration with R&D, oversee the development and governance of data platforms (data lakehouse, ETL/ELT pipelines, catalogues, data APIs). Ensure the quality, availability and security of the data used by AI products and analytics teams. Promote best practices in data engineering and governance (Law 25 compliance, quality standards, responsible processing).
  • Development and management of the AI innovation lab: Lead the teams responsible for designing the AI software services and common AI modules that power LGI Healthcare Solutions' products. In collaboration with the R&D teams, put in place modern AI-related engineering practices. Ensure technical coherence across the platform's components. Develop prototypes leveraging the most advanced AI models on the market and support their transition from prototype to production.
  • AI development partners: In collaboration with R&D, manage relationships with technology partners, AI solution vendors, consulting firms and external collaborators. Assess, select and oversee strategic partnerships for AI solution design. Negotiate agreements, ensure deliverable quality and maintain relationships grounded in performance and value created.
  • AI governance, security and compliance: Establish and maintain a responsible AI governance framework, including model transparency, bias management, data protection and regulatory compliance (Law 25, healthcare sector standards). Embed security and privacy requirements across all engineering and deployment practices.
  • Budget and resources: Develop, manage and optimize the budgets under their responsibility. Prioritize investments based on value, risk and execution capacity. Ensure sound management of costs, licences and outsourced services.
  • Team leadership and development: Supervise, engage and develop the teams under their responsibility. Define the objectives, performance indicators, responsibilities and priorities of each domain. Foster a culture of technical excellence, innovation and collaboration. Attract, develop and retain talent in AI and platform engineering.

Role Success Indicators

  • An integrated, prioritized AI and platform roadmap, executed in alignment with the CTO's vision and business objectives.
  • Successful delivery of AI products and data platforms on schedule, on budget and to quality standards.
  • Measurable adoption of AI solutions.
  • Increased maturity of AI engineering, data governance and platform development practices.
  • High-performing strategic partnerships that create value.
  • Engagement, development and stability of the AI and engineering teams.
  • Cost optimization and improved value generated by technology investments.

  • Demonstrated experience designing and deploying artificial intelligence systems in production (ML, LLM, RAG, AI agents, data pipelines).
  • In-depth knowledge of modern data platform architectures (data lakehouse, cloud data platforms, data APIs) and of MLOps/LLMOps practices.
  • Solid understanding of modern software engineering practices (DevSecOps, CI/CD, service-oriented architecture, microservices, automated testing), sufficient to arbitrate technical choices and engage engineering teams as a peer.
  • Experience managing technology partners, AI vendors and external development firms.
