Our global Pack is made up of people who thrive on solving hard problems, moving fast, and building technology that protects organizations around the world. We’re proud to be recognized by Forbes, CNBC, Fortune, CRN, Bartner Peer Insights and IDC MarketScape – but what matters most is the work behind it: delivering real outcomes for customers through award winning innovation like our Aurora Platform.

If you’re looking for meaningful work, smart teammates and the chance to make a real impact in a high-growth company that’s redefining security operations, Arctic Wolf is the right place for you!

Our mission is simple: End Cyber Risk. We’re looking for a Senior Developer to be part of making that happen.

About the Role

We are an innovation team within R&D, building internal products that power our Threat Intelligence and Detection authoring teams to secure our customers.

Working at petabyte scale, we build systems that enhance existing detections and unlock entirely new detection capabilities. We are mission-driven to secure the customer. We don't just follow industry standards, we help define them, building detection systems that set the bar for what's possible in cyber defence.

The team is responsible for the ingestion, correlation, and operationalization of threat intelligence for both detection and research purposes. We are committed to teaching, supporting, and growing one another while owning outcomes end to end, from greenfield ideation through to deploying industry-first detection capabilities.

This role is for a highly skilled developer responsible for delivering major product features independently, mentoring team members, and driving technical excellence across software development practices. The role plays a key part in architecture, design, and strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate has comprehensive knowledge of software development practices, mastery over writing and debugging code, and provides feedback to others on the team. They perform complex programming tasks and implement software systems, often including other team members as part of the effort. They assume responsibility for the quality and delivery of their code, participate in architecture reviews and technical design sessions, and complete major product features with little or no guidance while resolving dependencies across teams.

Our team is collaborative and cross-functional, working closely with data scientists, security researchers, and SOC analysts. We maintain a high-quality bar, with a culture of consistent iteration, monitoring, and improvement, and regularly meet with internal customers to understand their needs and design solutions that address them.

Responsibilities

  • Consistent and active participation in team development activities, including daily scrums, retrospectives, Test Fest, and related ceremonies. Consistently embodies team values and upholds others to.

  • Joins daily standup and takes on tasks by priority, such as proactively selecting the next story.

  • Supports the on-call rotation.

  • Supports other developers by unblocking them and providing training as needed.

  • Sets standards for maintainable code practices and continuously improves them.

  • Embodies quality from requirements, use cases, design, and code.

  • Completes complex programming tasks.

  • Participates in and often owns architecture and high-level design meetings.

  • Reviews peers’ code and provides detailed feedback.

  • Takes an active role in retrospectives, Test Fest, and similar activities.

  • Takes ownership of cross-functional dependencies and aligns with other teams.

  • Coaches through pairing, code examples, and knowledge share sessions.

  • Reviews and provides input to high-level designs.

  • Maintains awareness of business objectives, identifies how work applies to those objectives, and identifies new opportunities for work to support business objectives.

  • Understands design patterns and design anti-patterns.

  • Helps grow and develop others on the team.

  • Mentors junior team members.

  • Identifies and addresses technical debt and system bottlenecks, raising and resolving risks.

  • Aligns deliverables with broader business objectives and OKRs.

  • Designs and delivers Proofs of Concept (POCs) for high-impact projects.

  • Leads brainstorming sessions for architectural and strategic initiatives.

  • Works on Proofs of Concept (POCs) to clarify approaches.

  • Identifies patterns and anti-patterns to drive best practices.

  • Works across multiple repositories and teams.

  • Conducts knowledge sharing sessions.

  • Leads technical workshops.

  • Works with multiple stakeholders, including PMs and PgMs.

  • Drives post-mortems and retrospectives.

About You

  • Enthusiastic, collaborative, team player, ready to accept the challenge to end cyber risk

  • Takes full ownership of outcomes — a true product engineer at heart, you drive work from ideation through delivery and beyond, treating every product as your own and holding yourself accountable for its real-world impact

  • Experienced working directly with internal customers - identifying pain points and turning them into innovative, implemented solutions

  • Hands-on building and maintaining large-scale data pipelines on cloud-based platforms

  • Proficient with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and its native data and compute services

  • Familiar with streaming frameworks like Kafka, Spark Structured Streaming, or Flink
