The Senior Application Specialist will lead technical solutions development, oversee integrated IT solutions, and promote Agile methodologies within a collaborative team.
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Application Specialist to join our Agile software delivery team responsible for developing and supporting web and API-based enterprise solutions. The project focuses on modernizing technology platforms, adopting DevOps culture, and driving agile transformation to deliver high-quality solutions that meet evolving business needs.
The role involves designing technical solutions, leading delivery teams, and contributing to a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in the design, development, and delivery of integrated IT solutions.
- Provide technical leadership across backend and frontend software development efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing software.
- Design and develop features, architectural improvements, and enhancements for existing systems.
- Ensure solutions adhere to coding standards, technical requirements, and quality assurance guidelines.
- Translate business and technical requirements into functional software solutions.
- Participate in DevOps practices including continuous integration, testing, and deployment.
- Provide IT architecture planning and produce IT solution designs both independently and collaboratively.
- Support customer-centered design practices and the modernization of tools and technologies.
Backend Software Development:
- Strong experience in enterprise application development using Java, J2EE, Quarkus, and Spring Boot.
- Proficient in building and consuming RESTful and SOAP web services.
- Experience with XML, Multithreading, Swagger, and Microservices architecture.
- Hands-on experience designing and developing REST APIs using the TMF Open API suite.
Frontend Development:
- Proficiency in JavaScript frameworks and libraries, particularly ReactJS and NodeJS.
- Experience with Java, Web Services, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of modern frontend development practices and tools.
Architecture & Framework Knowledge:
- Experience with architecture and service delivery frameworks such as TOGAF, eTOM, ITIL, and CoBiT.
- Ability to produce high-quality IT architecture and planning documentation.
Agile & DevOps Experience:
- Practical experience working within Agile (Scrum/SAFe) teams.
- Familiarity with Agile project management tools like Jira and Confluence.
- SAFe certification is a strong asset.
Other Requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead technical discussions.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid environment, with occasional in-office collaboration.
Working Conditions:
- Type of job: Temporary Contractor – 1 year with the possibility to extend
- Work hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
