As Senior Advisor, Desjardins Group Integrated Risk Monitoring, you contribute to analysis, research and development activities to recommend directions and strategies for the organization’s risk monitoring framework. As a member of the 2LOD team, you play a cross-sector role by ensuring compliance with risk appetite and recommending measures in the event that it is exceeded. You lead and influence different stakeholders and assess the impact of emerging risks on Desjardins Group’s risk profile. In this regard, you serve as an expert advisor and subject matter expert in the area of risk monitoring. You help develop and recommend strategic directions and business positions in relation to risk monitoring. You also serve as a resource person and coach for senior management and decision-making bodies. More specifically, you will be required to :

  • Ensure compliance with risk appetite (and escalate if needed) and recommend measures in the event that it is exceeded

  • Analyze and integrate simulation results into monitoring

  • Assess the impact of emerging risks on Desjardins Group’s risk profile, using monitoring activities, analyses by experts and simulation results

  • Monitor the implementation of internal control mechanisms and confirm that they are robust and effective

  • Analyze issues and action plans

  • Analyze risk events and losses

  • Analyze and monitor Desjardins Group risk indicators

  • Monitor incentive compensation

  • Decide on the organization’s risk profile (assessment)

  • Ensure that ongoing monitoring is consistent to maintain compliance, including risk data aggregation and risk reporting (RDARR)

  • Assess the maturity levels of the various lines of defence and the effectiveness of risk management and control through a global assessment

  • Represent your unit before senior management committees and decision-making bodies.

What you bring to the table

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience in risk management

  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

  • Experience in executive writing

  • Knowledge of French is required

  • Intermediate knowledge of English, both oral and written due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
