JOB DESCRIPTION:
Le candidat(e) retenu sera chargé de gérer, soutenir et de développer un complexe portefeuille en maritime afin d'atteindre les objectifs de rentabilité satisfaisants. Plus précisément, le candidat retenu sera responsable de ce qui suit:
Fonctions et responsabilités essentielles:

  • Production de nouvelles affaires et gestion du portefeuille de renouvellements. Comprend l'analyse des risques, la tarification, la négociation, fixer termes et conditions, référer au supérieur, au besoin. Par écrit, soumettre, négociation et acceptation de réassurance, au besoin.
  • Réviser les rapports de sinistres et fournir les meilleurs solutions de souscription, si nécessaire.
    Surveiller le portefeuille pour identifier les tendances, les domaines d'opportunités et/ou les domaines à améliorer, si nécessaire.
  • Dossiers existants pour s'assurer de la rentabilité et la rétention de renouvellements.
  • Développer et gérer les relations d'affaires avec les groupes de courtiers assignés. Visites complètes de courtiers et élaborer des plans d'objectifs fixés chaque année
  • Effectuer des vérifications de souscription (Audit), aux besoins.
  • S'assurer que les Souscripteurs/Souscripteurs Associés répondent aux normes pour ce qui est la manipulation des documents et les délais de service.
  • Entraînement et mentorat du personnel moins expérimenté de souscription.

Connaissances, les compétences et capacités

  • Diplôme universitaire, combinée à titre de PAA (ou les progrès vers l'achèvement), avec 5-8 ans d'expériences en Souscription pour l'Assurance Biens et Responsabilité civile générale ou Maritime
  • De fortes compétences en marketing afin de permettre une croissance rentable du portefeuille d'assurances des entreprises.
  • Doit avoir une bonne connaissance du réseau des courtiers dans le présent marché ainsi qu'être a l'affut du marchée concurrentiel.
  • Avoir de très bonnes aptitudes pour le service à la clientèle. Excellentes compétences en communication écrite et verbale.
  • Forte esprit analytique, interprétation, compétences et gestion organisationnelle du temps. Doit avoir le souci du détail.
  • Capacité à conceptualiser les détails et élaborer des plans d'action pour la résolution de problèmes et la prise de décision.
  • Capacité à travailler de façon autonome et au sein d'une équipe, prendre des décisions de souscription avec une supervision limitée.
  • Démontrer les techniques d'encadrement.
  • Doit être à l'aise en français et en anglais. (écrit et oral)
  • Connaissance avec le programme Microsoft Office et d'autres activités liées au logiciel.
  • Connaissances en assurance automobiles serais un atout

Under broad supervision, the Senior Underwriter manages and develops a complex Marine underwriting portfolio to achieve profitability and retention goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieves gross written premium, retention, and new business goals specific to Customer Segment or Product Line plans outlined. Drives new business growth in core products & customer segments.
  • Production of new business and maintenance of renewal book of business. Includes risk analysis, pricing, negotiating, setting terms, and referrals to management as necessary.
  • Effective use and execution of Sales Advantage objectives including pipeline management, agency intelligence, producer management and sales call execution.
  • Establishes effective practices to continuously communicate appetite/industry strategies; drives effective market messaging.
  • Utilizes effective relationship management to ensure improved and/or expanded relationship with target producers to ensure achievement of targeted profitability and renewal retention goals.
  • Demonstrates adherence to underwriting discipline to minimize exposure and appropriately price risks.
  • Develop producer specific plans to achieve new business goal. Review producer results to plan quarterly and adjust plan. Drive producer accountability.
  • Achieve continuous improvement in prospect building.
  • Develop a pipeline process to target specific new and renewal accounts and measure outcomes
  • Participate in underwriting audits.
  • Ensure Underwriting Assistant/Associate Underwriter meets service standards for document handling and workflow is appropriate and timely for business unit.
  • Coaching and mentoring of less experienced underwriting staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University degree, combined with CIP designation (or progress towards completion), with 5- 8 years of commercial Marine underwriting experience;
  • Strong marketing skills to enable profitable growth of a book of business.
  • Must have familiarity with the brokers in the community and expertise and knowledge of distribution and the competitive market environment.
  • Customer service focused with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, interpretation, organizational and time management skills. Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to conceptualize details and develop action plans for problem solving and decision making.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment, making sound underwriting decisions with limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated coaching skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
