Aperçu du poste

Nous recherchons un ou une scientifique en correction d’erreurs quantiques afin de développer et d’évaluer des méthodes de correction d’erreurs, des approches de décodage et des architectures tolérantes aux fautes pour des systèmes quantiques supraconducteurs. La personne retenue contribuera à établir un lien entre la recherche théorique en correction d’erreurs quantiques, les capacités expérimentales et les exigences à long terme des systèmes. 

Principales responsabilités Recherche et développement

  • Concevoir et évaluer des protocoles et des expériences de correction d’erreurs quantiques.
  • Développer et comparer des algorithmes de décodage.
  • Analyser les taux d’erreurs logiques et les performances des méthodes de correction d’erreurs.
  • Développer des modèles d’erreurs réalistes fondés sur les caractéristiques des dispositifs.
  • Contribuer à la rédaction de publications scientifiques et de rapports techniques.

Architecture quantique

  • Contribuer à l’architecture de systèmes tolérants aux fautes et à l’estimation des ressources.
  • Évaluer les compromis entre les codes de correction d’erreurs, les contraintes matérielles et les exigences de mise à l’échelle.
  • Aider à identifier les limites architecturales et à définir les feuilles de route technologiques.

Collaboration interfonctionnelle

  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les équipes de matériel, de calibration, de contrôle, de micrologiciel et de logiciel.
  • Soutenir l’intégration des méthodes de correction d’erreurs quantiques dans les systèmes opérationnels.

Qualifications

  • Doctorat en physique, en mathématiques, en informatique ou dans un domaine connexe.
  • Solide expérience en correction d’erreurs quantiques ou en information quantique.
  • Expérience en décodage, en simulation d’erreurs logiques ou avec les codes stabilisateurs.
  • Excellentes compétences analytiques, numériques et en programmation.
  • Capacité à relier les modèles théoriques aux contraintes expérimentales.

Role Overview

We are seeking a Quantum Error Correction Scientist to develop and evaluate QEC methods, decoding approaches, and fault-tolerant architectures for superconducting quantum computing systems. The successful candidate will help connect theoretical QEC research with experimental capabilities and long-term system requirements. 

Key Responsibilities Research & Development

  • Design and evaluate QEC protocols and experiments.
  • Develop and benchmark decoding algorithms.
  • Analyze logical error rates and QEC performance.
  • Develop realistic, device-informed error models.
  • Support scientific publications and technical reports.

Quantum Architecture

  • Contribute to fault-tolerant system architecture and resource estimation.
  • Evaluate trade-offs between QEC codes, hardware constraints, and scaling requirements.
  • Help identify architectural bottlenecks and define technical roadmaps.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with hardware, calibration, control, firmware, and software teams.
  • Support the integration of QEC methodologies into operational systems.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Strong background in quantum error correction or quantum information science.
  • Experience with decoding, logical-error simulation, or stabilizer codes.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and programming skills.
  • Ability to connect theoretical models with experimental constraints.
