This Position reports to:

Manufacturing Unit Manager
 

We are seeking a dynamic individual who is ready to take on a new challenge to fill a Sales Specialist – Technical Sales Support position at our our ABB GFI facility, located in Pointe‑Claire (Labrosse Avenue).

This role is responsible for actively driving sales growth by managing customer opportunities, developing technical solutions, and converting leads into orders. This role combines commercial ownership with technical expertise, ensuring that customer needs are understood, solutions are proposed, and sales are successfully closed.

The position plays a key role in achieving sales targets by owning portions of the sales cycle while collaborating closely with account managers, engineering, and operations.

This role is contributing to the Electrification, Installation Products of ABB Canada.

The work model is 100% onsite.

Responsibilities

1- Sales & Business Development

  • Actively manage and qualify incoming leads and customer inquiries

  • Develop and promote technical solutions aligned with customer needs

  • Drive quotation activities with a strong focus on conversion to orders

  • Follow up proactively on opportunities to secure sales and achieve targets

2- Customer Engagement

  • Serve as a key point of contact for customers on technical and commercial matters

  • Build and maintain strong relationships to support customer retention and growth

  • Understand customer requirements and translate them into tailored solutions

  • Participate in customer meetings and support sales presentations when required

3- Technical Sales & Quotation Management

  • Prepare and own technical and commercial proposals, ensuring competitiveness and accuracy

  • Interpret specifications, drawings, and technical requirements to define optimal solutions

  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to validate solutions and pricing

  • Balance technical feasibility, cost, and commercial strategy to maximize win rate

4- Order Management & Execution

  • Support order finalization, including contract review and order entry validation

  • Ensure smooth handover to operations while maintaining customer satisfaction

  • Monitor order progress and address issues that may impact delivery or customer expectations

5- Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work cross-functionally with sales, engineering, supply chain, and other relevant departments

  • Contribute to sales strategy execution and process improvements

  • Support optimization of tools, pricing strategies, and quotation processes

Qualifications

  • College diploma or university degree in engineering, business, or a related field

  • 5-8 years of experience in technical sales, inside sales, or sales support in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Bilingual French and English is a must. English is necessary to communicate with clients outside Quebec.

  • Experience working in the metal industry is considered a strong asset.  

  • Strong ability to understand and communicate technical product offerings

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills

  • Customer-focused with strong relationship-building abilities

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple opportunities
