Queen's Engineering Competition (QEC) Coordinator Positions
The Queen’s Engineering Competition (QEC) is an annual event that allows engineering students from different disciplines attending Queen’s University to compete in a variety of engineering competition categories. QEC showcases the innovation and creativity of Queen’s Engineering students, throughout a weekend of good-natured competition. The winners of each category are selected to compete at the Ontario Engineering Competition (OEC), where they compete for cash prizes and a chance to attend the Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC).
We are currently hiring Coordinators in the following departments, with the number of positions for each respective department:
- Challenges
- Marketing
- Sponsorships
General
- Work term will be from May 2026 to the Conference date in November 2026
- Passion for creativity and innovation in STEM
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Strong work ethic
Challenges Coordinators
- Determine the outline of the challenge and ensure feasibility
- Supervise competitors and run challenge on day of competition
- Work with logistics team to determine the size of venue and budget needed for resources
- Create and present a delegate/rubric package for each challenge
Marketing Coordinators
- Help manage QEC website and social media platforms
- Take photos and videos during the event
- Plan in-person marketing campaigns for registration and other operations
Sponsorship Coordinators
- Identify and engage potential sponsors
- Maintain relationships with sponsors and ensure their expectations are met
- Work closely with the team to integrate sponsorship contributions effectively
Applications are due May 31, 2026 at 11:59PM. Interviews will occur June 4-8th.
