Agropur is looking for a Production Director to join is St-Laurent team.


The Production Director is responsible for leading and overseeing all manufacturing operations and sanitation activities within the plant. The role ensures the implementation of efficient production methods to achieve profitability targets, maintain product quality standards, and drive continuous optimization of production processes.


The Production Director plays a key leadership role in fostering a performance‑driven culture while ensuring compliance with food safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

  • Salary range  007: 118,000$ to 147,500$ (Salary will be determined based on skills, education, training & experience related to the position.)

 

How you will contribute to collective success:


  • Lead all production operations to achieve the plant’s objectives related to safety, quality, service, cost, environmental performance, and overall operational excellence.
  • Supervise and coach Production Coordinators and Supervisors in the management of operations, manufacturing processes, and team performance.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence by developing both technical and leadership capabilities across the organization.
  • Provide leadership in health and safety initiatives and ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to quality, sanitation, food safety, and regulatory standards while promoting a strong quality culture throughout the plant.
  • Drive performance through the effective management of key operational metrics (SQCDME), ensuring rigorous follow-up on action plans and implementation of corrective measures.
  • Optimize the use of human, material, and financial resources to maximize operational efficiency and achieve budgetary targets.
  • Lead continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives aimed at increasing productivity, reducing waste, and enhancing overall plant performance.
  • Develop talent, support succession planning, and strengthen the leadership capabilities of managers and supervisors.
  • Build strong partnerships across functions and act as a change leader in support of the organization’s strategic priorities.


The type of team player who fits in:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an operations or production management role.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification required, or an equivalent combination of training and continuous improvement experience.
  • Strong knowledge of SQF, HACCP, GMP and applicable food safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience leading continuous improvement, operational excellence, and performance management initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English (English is required to collaborate with colleagues across Canada).
