ABOUT THE TEAM

Reporting to the Manager, Public Markets Solutions, the Product Owner contributes to the vision, strategy, and evolution of technology solutions supporting Public Markets investment activities.

The Public Markets Solutions team is responsible for the technology platforms that support Front Office, Middle Office, Back Office, Treasury, and Compliance functions. Through a product- and value-oriented approach, the team acts as a strategic partner to business units, ensuring the continuous evolution of technology capabilities that support the full investment lifecycle.

Within the Public Markets value stream, we work closely with investment, operations, and technology teams to deliver innovative, high-performing solutions aligned with PSP’s strategic objectives. 

ABOUT YOUR ROLE 

The Product Owner is ultimately responsible for maximizing the business value generated by the products under their responsibility by establishing product vision, defining priorities, and ensuring alignment between business objectives, user needs, and technology capabilities.

As a Product Owner, Public Markets Solutions, you’ll:  

  • Define, maintain, and communicate the vision, strategy, and roadmap for your products in collaboration with business stakeholders and technology teams

  • Contribute to the establishment of Public Markets value stream objectives and priorities to ensure alignment with PSP’s strategic direction

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business and technology stakeholders to understand their needs, identify improvement opportunities, and maximize delivered value

  • Assess the business value of initiatives and manage and prioritize the product backlog to guide teams toward delivering the highest-value outcomes

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into user stories, functional requirements, and practical solutions

  • Contribute to business case development, option analysis, and solution definition to optimize investment processes and capabilities

  • Ensure solutions align with the product vision, target architecture, operational requirements, and organizational strategic objectives

  • Work closely with Agile teams to plan, execute, and deliver initiatives in accordance with product goals and business stakeholder expectations

  • Manage stakeholder expectations regarding delivery, value, and outcomes while proactively communicating priorities and product evolution

  • Measure realized benefits, promote solution adoption, and contribute to the continuous improvement of products under your responsibility

  • Ensure the ongoing support and evolution of platforms, including the management of incidents, recurring issues, operational risks, and optimization opportunities

WHAT YOU’LL NEED 
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in investment technology, business analysis, product management, or technology solution delivery

  • Significant experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or in a similar role within an Agile environment

  • Strong understanding of financial markets, asset management, and Public Markets investment processes

  • Experience with investment management platforms such as SimCorp Dimension, Bloomberg AIM, or comparable solutions

  • Demonstrated ability to define a product vision, manage a backlog, and prioritize initiatives based on business value

  • Excellent ability to influence, engage, and collaborate with stakeholders at various organizational levels

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess the benefits, risks, and business impacts of initiatives

  • Knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and product management practices

  • SQL proficiency and experience with data analysis are considered strong assets

  • Bilingualism: English and French (frequent interactions in English with PSP employees based in our offices in Hong Kong, London and New York, and interactions in French with employees in our local offices in Montreal and Ottawa)
