The Operations Coordinator for Magna International's recreational property, Simeon Park, is responsible for enhancing the park experience by organizing recreational programs, events, activities, and amenities that cater to the enjoyment of the facility. In this role, you will also train and coordinate summer students, oversee guest services, and coordinate sports leagues and events, including registration and bookings. This position reports directly to the Manager, Health Promotion.
Your Responsibilities
- Park Operations & Guest Services: Oversees daily recreational activities and guest services at Simeon Park in collaboration with the Pool Supervisor.
- Program & Event Coordination: Organizes sports leagues, swim school, and events like the Global 6K for Water and Magna Sports Tournaments, including roster organization, registration, payments, scheduling, and logistics.
- Administrative & Financial Duties: Manages program registrations, maintains attendance and financial records, and supports business planning and proposals for park improvements.
- Staff Supervision & Safety: Recruits, trains, and supervises summer students, ensuring adherence to safety policies and procedures.
- Marketing & Community Engagement: Leads year-round marketing efforts, creates promotional materials, and develops community and charity programs.
- Facility Collaboration & Maintenance: Works with facilities and pool staff on budgeting and forecasting, works with health and safety team to act as health and safety champion at Simeon Park, updates policies, and performs maintenance tasks as needed.
Who we are looking for
- 3 years of operations and/or recreation programming experience
- Ability to operate machinery and work independently under pressure
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Flexibility in meeting changing demands and deadlines
- Strong relationship building, interpersonal skills, and effective team participation
- Positive, energetic, professional disposition, and understanding of Magna values, philosophies, and policies
Work Environment
- On-site at park with outdoor conditions during summer months; hybrid office environment during off-season.
- 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required.
- Travel on a frequent basis within Ontario, largely within the GTA, during off-season.
