This position is for Massiv Die-Form, a division of Cosma International.

Massiv Die-Form, a division of Magna International, designs and builds medium to large cast automotive and hot stamping dies. We are looking for a Leadhand to join our Laser Team!
Role Responsibilities:
  • Prepare work area and personnel for start up at beginning of each shift, including timesheets/ attendance records, i.e. must report to work 30 minutes before beginning of regular shift.
  • Ensure customer production requirements are met through coordination of schedules, manpower planning, troubleshooting.
  • Liaison with other departments and outside suppliers regarding product development (Unified effort), continuous improvement projects, new jobs and prioritizing/delegating where required.
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformities relating to product, process and quality system.
  • Control further processing, delivery or installation of nonconforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Verify the implementation of solutions.
  • Ensure employee development, teamwork, quality work environment through regular meetings/feedback, training, appraisals and maintenance of open communication.
  • Be available as part of the "OPEN DOOR PROCESS" and follow through with employee concerns.
  • Follow up, respond, resolve or refer employees to appropriate personnel for concern resolution/ inquiries.
  • Ensure consistent application of plant rules, policies and procedures, incl. progressive discipline.
  • Responsible for completing performance appraisal of team members, tracking employee performance and escalating any concerns to Human Resources in a timely manner
  • Ensure all safety and non-safety plant rules and procedures are followed.
  • Responsible to carry out duties for Health, Safety, and Environment in accordance with the HS&E Agreement for Supervisor/Leadhand - Addendum
  • Responsible for applicable QEMS + QAS policies, procedures & work instructions
  • Required to train employees on policies, procedures & work instructions applicable to work area according to QEMS and QAS
  • Update QEP plans as required
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required

Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities & experience.
  • Must be proficient in Tebis V4.0+ and Smirt V3.5+
  • Must be proficient in Shiftworx Reports and library management.
  • Must be proficient in using Microsoft project, word and excel.
  • Prior scheduling experience
  • Experience creating and updating procedures to optimize latest tooling and machinery
  • Knowledge of conventional stamping, hot stamping, hydroform and laser operations.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Good working knowledge of automotive manufacturing/ production facility, systems, laser equipment and dies
