A Day in the Life

Medtronic est à la recherche d’un(e) stagiaire en microbiologie/stérilisation motivé(e) et rigoureux(se) pour rejoindre notre équipe. Ce stage offre une opportunité unique d’acquérir une expérience pratique dans l’industrie des dispositifs médicaux et de contribuer au développement et à l’amélioration des processus de fabrication.

Il s’agit d’un poste en présentiel, à temps plein (40 heures/semaine), rémunéré, d’une durée minimale de 12 semaines, situé dans notre usine de Pointe-Claire.

Les responsabilités peuvent inclure ce qui suit (et d’autres tâches peuvent être assignées) :

  • Réaliser des tests d'endotoxines en cours de processus et des dénombrements microbiens dans le cadre du programme de surveillance environnementale du site.

  • Préparer, nettoyer, désinfecter et/ou stériliser des instruments, des matériaux, des produits et/ou des fournitures.

  • Suivre les protocoles et les réglementations pour nettoyer, entreposer et/ou livrer les produits, fournitures et/ou instruments.

  • Interpréter et évaluer les analyses en termes de précision et d'exactitude par rapport aux spécifications établies, recommander et mettre en œuvre des actions correctives si nécessaire.

  • Développer, valider et mettre en œuvre des méthodes pour les environnements contrôlés.

  • Appliquer les techniques et procédures existantes avec des recommandations et la mise en œuvre de modifications pour améliorer l'efficacité, ou concevoir et développer de nouvelles méthodes et techniques analytiques.

  • Réaliser des tests qualitatifs ou dosages quantitatifs sur des échantillons à l’aide de techniques allant de méthodes analytiques standard à des approches plus complexes.

Qualifications minimales :

  • Être actuellement en cours d’obtention d’un baccalauréat en sciences ou dans un domaine technique

  • Avoir un permis de travail valide et être légalement autorisé à travailler au Canada. Medtronic Montréal ne fournit pas de parrainage pour un permis de travail pour les stages.

  • Être disponible à temps plein (40 heures/semaine) du lundi au vendredi.

Qualifications souhaitées :

  • Moyenne cumulative minimale de 3.0 sur 4.0

  • Expérience préalable de travail en équipe sur des projets

  • Expérience de leadership dans des groupes étudiants, bénévolat et activités parascolaires pertinentes

  • Expérience académique et/ou de stage pertinente liée au domaine

Medtronic is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Microbiology/Sterilization Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the medical device industry and contribute to the development and improvement of manufacturing processes.

This is an in person, full-time (40 hours/week), paid position that is minimum 12 weeks long at our plant in Pointe Claire,

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

  • Performs in-process endotoxin testing and microbial counts as part of site’s environmental monitoring program.
  • Prepares, cleans, disinfects, and/or sterilizes instruments, materials, products, and/or supplies.
  • Follows protocols and regulations in order to clean, store, and/or deliver products, supplies, and/or instruments.
  • Interprets and evaluates the analyses in terms of accuracy and precision compared against established specifications and recommends and implements corrective action where necessary.
  • Develops, validates, and implements controlled environment methods.
  • Applies existing techniques and procedures with recommendations and implementation of modification for improved efficiency or devises and develops new analytical methods and techniques.
  • Performs qualitative tests or quantitative assays on samples using techniques that vary from use of standard analytical

Minimum Qualifications:  

To be considered for the Microbiology/Sterilization internship, you must meet the following basic requirements. To be considered for a position, clearly indicate how you meet these criteria on your resume.  

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in science or technical field   
  • Must have current work authorization and be legally authorized to work in Canada. Medtronic Montreal does not provide work authorization sponsorship for intern positions.  
  • Participants must be able to participate full time (40 hours/week) from Monday to Friday  

  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a 3.0 out of 4.0 cumulative GPA  
  • Prior work on projects in a team environment  
  • Leadership experience in student groups, volunteer experience, and related extracurriculars  
  • Relevant academic project and/or internship experience
