About UpDoc

At UpDoc, we are building the first clinically validated, physician-supervised AI agent that manages chronic diseases. We are an early-stage startup founded by Stanford physicians.

We are seeking a hands-on Marketing Lead to build and lead UpDoc’s marketing function. As our first dedicated marketing hire, you will own strategy and execution, working closely with leadership, Commercial, Clinical, and Product to build UpDoc’s presence in the market and communicate the value of our technology to healthcare audiences.

This is a remote role, with candidates preferred to be physically located in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Who You Are

You’re a versatile marketer who can set strategy and execute it. You’re comfortable developing positioning and go-to-market priorities while also writing content, launching campaigns, managing digital channels, and supporting events.

You have experience marketing healthcare technology and can translate complex clinical and technical concepts into clear, credible messaging. You thrive in an early-stage environment, work independently, and are comfortable building without an established playbook or team.

What You'll Do
  • Own UpDoc’s marketing strategy, priorities, and execution across brand, digital, content, demand generation, and communications.

  • Develop UpDoc’s positioning, messaging, and narrative across healthcare, clinical, and AI audiences.

  • Build marketing programs that generate awareness and qualified interest among health systems, provider organizations, and strategic partners.

  • Partner with Commercial on campaigns, account-based marketing, case studies, presentations, customer stories, and sales enablement.

  • Own UpDoc’s website, social, email, and other digital channels.

  • Develop content spanning clinical evidence, thought leadership, product stories, customer outcomes, and industry perspectives.

  • Support product launches, partnerships, research publications, company announcements, and executive communications.

  • Lead UpDoc’s marketing presence at relevant conferences, events, and webinars.

  • Establish marketing tools, processes, analytics, and reporting; use performance data to determine where to invest.

  • Manage agencies, freelancers, and other external resources as needed while remaining hands-on in execution.

  • Help shape the marketing team and capabilities as UpDoc grows.

What You'll Need
  • 6+ years of marketing experience, ideally within digital health, health tech, healthcare technology, or a related healthcare environment.

  • Experience building marketing programs or capabilities in an early-stage or high-growth company.

  • Broad experience across areas such as product marketing, content, digital, demand generation, brand, communications, events, or sales enablement.

  • Strong understanding of healthcare markets and experience marketing to healthcare organizations and decision-makers.

  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex clinical and technical concepts clearly.

  • Experience developing product positioning and messaging.

  • A track record of personally executing marketing programs, not only managing teams or agencies.

  • Experience partnering with Commercial or Sales to support enterprise pipeline and customer conversations.

  • Strong analytical skills and experience using marketing data to evaluate performance.

  • Comfort with modern marketing, analytics, content, and AI tools.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively in a fast-moving environment.

Highly Desired
  • Experience marketing AI-enabled healthcare or other complex clinical technology.

  • Experience marketing to health systems, provider organizations, physicians, or healthcare executives.

  • Experience with enterprise B2B healthcare marketing and account-based marketing.

  • Familiarity with chronic disease management, digital care delivery, clinical AI, or remote care.

  • Experience with clinical evidence, customer case studies, thought leadership, PR, or healthcare conferences.

  • Experience as an early or first marketing hire at a startup
