Job Description

In collaboration with the Marketing Data Manager, the Marketing Data Engineering Specialist acts as the operational technical pillar of the marketing data ecosystem.
The role is responsible for designing, building, operating, and ensuring the reliability of data flows that support Martech and artificial intelligence initiatives, ensuring that the right data is available, reliable, and actionable, at the right place and at the right time.
The incumbent translates strategic directions into concrete, scalable, and sustainable technical solutions that enable marketing activation, advanced analytics, and the operationalization of AI use cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable data pipelines to ingest data from key marketing sources (CRM, Web, Customer Experience, media platforms, etc.) into the marketing data warehouse.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and freshness through validation, cleansing, testing, and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Automate data flows to ensure reliable, repeatable operations and minimize manual intervention.
  • Model and structure data (tables, views, analytical layers) to facilitate marketing analysis and activation.
  • Optimize data warehouse performance to support analytical needs and near‑real‑time marketing activations.
  • Prepare and transform raw data into clean, documented, and usable datasets to fuel AI models, recommendation engines, advanced segmentation, and personalized activations.
  • Act as a technical reference for marketing data flows, support the integration of new Martech platforms, and contribute to the rapid resolution of data‑related incidents.

Qualifications

  • University degree in computer science, information systems, software engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
  • 6 to 8 years of experience in technical data roles (data engineering, pipelines, data warehousing), ideally in a marketing, digital, or e‑commerce environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and strong experience with at least one cloud data warehouse (Snowflake, BigQuery).
  • Excellent command of a scripting language, preferably Python, and experience with data orchestration and transformation tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect, dbt).
  • Strong understanding of marketing data sources (Google Analytics, Google Ads, CRM, media platforms) is a significant asset.
  • Excellent proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams) and demonstrated ease with collaborative digital tools and AI solutions (e.g., Copilot); ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Oral and written fluency in French and English*.
A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues and partners in Quebec and internationally.
