The firm invests exclusively through four buyout strategies: Industrials, Financial Services, Digital Infrastructure, and Technologies, each with dedicated fund capital and clearly defined investment criteria.

Each strategy is sector-led and thesis-driven, combining deep operating and investment expertise with an active ownership mindset to support growth, transformation, and long-term value creation.

What you will do

As Manager, Business Applications, you will act as Product Owner for Novacap's suite of back-office and middle-office business applications, overseeing platform roadmaps, governance, vendor relationships and team performance. You will ensure the firm's core systems, spanning CRM, ERP and operational platforms, are reliable, well governed and aligned to the needs of every team firmwide.

Key responsibilities

Platform ownership

  • Serve as Product Owner for a portfolio of more than ten SaaS platforms, including DealCloud (IRM, DRM and PRM), Allvue, iLevel, NetSuite, Monday.com, Zendesk, Loopio, Rippling, Workato and Concur.
  • Define and maintain platform roadmaps in line with evolving business needs and firm priorities.
  • Manage intake for new project and business application requests, formalizing the process and gathering and documenting business needs and requirements to inform prioritization.
  • Establish and enforce governance frameworks across the application portfolio, covering access controls, data integrity and change management.
  • Provide technical and business support to end users, troubleshooting issues and guiding effective platform use.
  • Maintain up-to-date, centralized vendor and technical documentation for the application portfolio, ensuring it is easily accessible.

Vendor & procurement management

  • Lead vendor negotiations, including pricing, service levels and contract terms.
  • Manage contract renewals, ensuring timely review and alignment with budget and usage requirements.
  • Maintain ongoing vendor relationships, monitoring service performance and escalating issues as needed.
  • Conduct ongoing technology watches across the vendor landscape to keep the platform portfolio best-in-class and reduce the risk of vendor lock-in.

Team leadership

  • Oversee internal resources for the business applications in scope and the offshore team supporting data input for the DRM and IRM (TresVista).
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and development support to direct reports and offshore team members.
  • Implement DRI and RACI frameworks to clarify ownership and accountability across the team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, performance and continuous improvement within the team.

Stakeholder support & reporting

  • Support teams across the firm with data-driven analytics from the applications in scope, notably the IRM, the DRM and iLevel, including overseeing monthly reconciliations.
  • Deliver ad hoc reporting to inform strategic investment and fundraising decisions.
  • Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and platform capabilities, translating reporting needs into actionable outputs.

What you will bring

Your skills, knowledge and experience are what set you apart.

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, management information systems, business administration or a related field.
  • Five to eight years of experience with business applications, including at least two years as product owner, platform owner or application manager for a portfolio of SaaS systems, with strong business analysis skills (requirements gathering, process mapping).
  • Demonstrated experience administering CRM and ERP platforms; familiarity with DealCloud, Allvue, iLevel or NetSuite is a strong asset.
  • Experience leading vendor negotiations, contract renewals and service-level management.
  • People leadership experience, including coaching direct reports and coordinating offshore or outsourced teams.
  • Working knowledge of application governance practices: access controls, data integrity, change management and integration tooling such as Workato.
  • Strong documentation discipline, with experience building and maintaining accessible knowledge bases for vendor and technical information.
  • Ability to translate business reporting needs into analytics and deliverables for senior stakeholders.
  • Experience in a financial, regulated or professional services environment is an asset.
  • Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written, is required given our cross-border activities and our colleagues across Canada and the United States.
