Salary range (but not limited to):

149,600 - 182,800

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

We're looking for 2 Actuarial Managers to join our Claims Data Analytics Team (CDAT team). You will contribute to maintaining our profitability. The size and scope of our team will allow you to work on a variety of different projects. Join our CDAT team to support strategic claims decisions focused on customer experience, operational excellence and financial performance!


The first position is in our Casualty and Legal stream. This team develops analytical methods to deepen our understanding of inflationary pressures in bodily injury coverage and contributes to several operational initiatives to mitigate these pressures. The team is also responsible for accelerating the exploration of GenAI use cases in claims operations.


The second position is in our Accident Benefits, Large Loss and Specialty Lines Canada stream. This team develops analytical methods to deepen our understanding of inflationary pressures and monitors the impact of various reforms that affect these business segments in Ontario and Alberta. The team also contributes to large-scale projects affecting all claims and aimed at improving operational outperformance.


What you will do here:


  • Help achieve employee engagement, indemnity control and customer experience improvement goals.
  • Make appropriate recommendations after analyzing and interpreting reports produced by actuarial analysts to improve the performance of claims operations.
  • Manage performance reviews, development and coaching for your group members in order to meet the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Manage your team’s activities by organizing, planning and controlling the optimal use of human, financial and material resources in accordance with company strategies and budget planning.
  • Manage and provide technical advice to the members of your group who are responsible for actuarial work and studies.
  • Represent the CDAT Actuarial Service at workshops and committees and act as a resource person for various stakeholders.
  • Act as an advisor to help claims operations personnel make data-driven decisions on how to maintain better control over claims, increase operational efficiency and improve the customer experience.

What you bring to the table:


  • University degree in Mathematics or Actuarial Science or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Job-specific designation: FCAS an asset.
  • At least 7 years of experience, including 2 years in management or coaching, definite asset.
  • Strong skills and knowledge of actuarial techniques.
