The MRI Technologist ensures quality MRI services for clinical trials, provides training, supports troubleshooting, and collaborates on imaging quality issues.
The MRI Technologist will play a significant role in ensuring the successful implementation and quality of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and/or Enterography (MRI/E) central reading services in clinical trials. This role will focus primarily on supporting the study team in determining clinical trial imaging site feasibility, supporting the development and delivery of training programs and providing support in troubleshooting issues with technical equipment at the site. The MRI Technologist also provides technical guidance to various stakeholders in achieving high quality MR image data.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging Training and Support (35%)
- Support the development and delivery of training programs for site and/or CRO (Alimentiv or lead CRO) personnel to perform MR procedures accurately and consistently (virtual/on-site)
- Provide comprehensive training on proper patient positioning, imaging techniques, and protocol adherence
- Address questions and concerns from site staff regarding MR procedures, machine questions, and protocol requirements
- Utilize ticket management system to initiate/follow up on site support requests from various stakeholders across multiple projects, act as point person for technical inquiries within Medical Imaging
- Utilize various software platforms that support image submissions, quality control and image analysis
- Create and implement processes and systems to track issues and trends for various reporting needs
- Initiate site follow ups with image recommendations following quality assessments, as needed
- Participate in image quality assessments or review of machine outputs, as needed
Magnetic Resonance Technical Expertise (30%)
- Offer guidance to investigator site staff on optimizing image quality and acquiring relevant anatomical views for accurate assessments
- Participate in operational and customer meetings as needed
Site Feasibility and Quality Control (20%)
- Collaborate with the study team to verify trial sites and MRI machines meet minimum criteria for selection
- Support evaluation of site capabilities to ensure adherence to imaging protocols, machine requirements and quality standards
- Perform ongoing quality check assessments of imaging data to identify and analyze trends in image quality issues
- Prepare and report trending issue observations to applicable stakeholders with recommendations for corrective measures to mitigate further occurrences, ensuring high imaging standards throughout the trial lifecycle
- Participate in change management, including but not limited to, document updates, implementation of new processes/procedures, supporting product development work
Collaboration (15%)
- Collaborate closely with the study team, including Clinical Project Managers, Image Services, Imaging Scientists, Central Readers, and Product team to ensure seamless integration of MR central reading services into IBD trials
- Serve as a point of contact for site personnel, and internal stakeholders, addressing queries and providing ongoing support
