To coordinate our resources and deliver thought leadership we are looking to create a Global Digital Cargo Leadership role, engaging with clients, prospects, colleagues and markets globally, to ensure we are coordinating all that we have available to our clients, from Advisory through to Placement.

In particular, Digital Cargo seeks to establish more efficient distribution channels for a traditional cargo insurance solution, and the Global Digital Cargo role will include looking at how we support our all of our clients, but in particular it will focus on supporting our clients in the logistics industry with their journey to providing superior cargo related solutions to their clients – which ultimately will impact how cargo is insured for all of our clients and prospects.   

In this role, the Global Digital Cargo Leader will:

  • Coordinate the strategic vision and ambition for the Global Digital Cargo practice, working across the organization and throughout the regions to support the delivery of all of Marsh to both local and global clients.  
  • Explain the benefits and support Digital Cargo growth in regions where MCL teams exist and help other regions develop Digital Cargo and Logistics focused colleagues in conjunction with opportunity.
  • Report to the relevant Global Specialty Leadership as well as into the relevant Regional Specialty Leadership, and the relevant Affinity Leadership, guiding planning on overall investment into the practice.
  • Coordinate, produce and deliver regular, relevant and timely thought leadership for a global audience – both internal and external.
  • Coordinate Advisory risk evaluations and develop a support structure for local contract review that leverages global contract knowledge.
  • Assist in aligning global placement strategy, including working with our captive solutions team to be in a position to help present and coordinate alternative risk solutions.
  • Guide the standardization of digital solutions targeted to the logistics industry, including support for a global Shippers Interest strategy.
  • Present development/growth plans to the Global Head of Specialty while supporting development/ growth plans at a regional level.
  • Devise, where appropriate, placement strategies that are truly agnostic and fulfil on our client first principle.
  • Oversee financial performance of the Global Digital Cargo initiative across the regions, coordinating and collaborating with all region.
  • Build on Mercer, Guy Carpenter and Oliver Wyman relationship to support the digital value proposition and coordinate with Victor for broader distribution opportunities.
