Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Junior Engineering Designer to join our growing Roads and Highway team. This is an excellent opportunity to launch your engineering career and contribute to a variety of large-scale transportation and municipal infrastructure projects.

In this role, you will assist in preparing design drawings and reports for civil engineering projects using industry-standard CAD tools. You’ll gain exposure to multidisciplinary projects, including highways, roads, transit, and site development throughout the GTA. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic, eager to learn, and ready to work on impactful projects while receiving mentorship from experienced engineers.

Role Accountabilities:

· Assist in the preparation of preliminary and detailed design drawings, technical reports, and memos under the supervision of senior team members.

· Support the design process for various civil works, which may include roadways, grading, drainage, site development, and related infrastructure.

· Ensure compliance with relevant standards, guidelines, and regulations.

· Coordinate with project teams, clients, contractors, and external stakeholders.

· Develop preliminary and detailed designs using CAD software (e.g., Bentley, Autodesk, MicroStation, or AutoCAD Civil 3D).

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

· 3+ years of experience in engineering design (transportation or utilities is an asset).

· Proficiency with CAD tools (MicroStation, Inroads/Open Roads, or AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred).

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to collaborate and learn.

· Familiarity with municipal and road authority standards is an asset.

· Desire to grow professionally and contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects.
