Division: Quality Assurance & Prod Mgmt
Position Description
The Quality Center Of Excellence Tooling and Automation team provides services for all divisions and time zones of diversified global bank. Java and also recently Scala languages are used.
Looking for Java developer to build, enhance and maintain tools and test harnesses for various middleware and non-GUI backend systems. OOP methods will be used to create reusable modules that can be shared across multiple projects and integrated into internally developed suite of testing tools for improved efficiency and time to market. The individual will have the opportunity to learn about several technologies and firm systems as well as interact with various end users. Good interpersonal and communication skills are also a must.
The successful candidate will have specific experience testing complex distributed message based systems some of which may also have structured public APIs that interface to external systems. The candidate should be able to cite examples of the successful employment of a variety of test strategies. The candidate should be comfortable working in a Global organization. The candidate will work closely with the development team to address known gaps in the QA process and recommend a comprehensive QA program that lowers the time to market and delivery risk and improves the overall quality in an Agile Development environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are a must.
Skills Required
- Diploma (BSc) preferably in IT or Business with strong IT background
- 2-5 years of QA / Testing experience in large cross platform testing programs preferably in backend testing
- Experience testing UNIX/Linux , MQ & Windows OS environment applications
- UNIX shell scripting and Perl programming
- Experience building back-end automated test harnesses
- Basic database experience in SQL, Sybase/Oracle, DB2
- Experience in writing test cases directly from business/IT requirements
- Passion for testing and quality assurance

- Desire to learn some of the business functionality being developed in systems
