Position Description

As part of an aggressive strategy to centralize derivative products settlement across different business groups, we are looking to extend the Montreal OTC Pre-settlement team, which covers OTC Derivatives post trade processing. Derivatives processing is a global team covering OTC products such as Credit Derivatives, Equity Derivatives, FX and Commodities. The team concentrates on client centric functions, from trade confirmations, to cashflow management, margin processing and client statements.

The successful candidate requires a very strong technical background as well as good communication skills. The candidate should have hands-on experience working in a Financial Services company involving both development and support.

Skills Required

Excellent working knowledge of the following technologies: Java, Databases (Tsql, Sybase), Integration (Soap/Xml/Messaging).
Sound understanding of Object Oriented Analysis, Design and Programming, familiarity with Design Patterns.
Hands on experience with multithreaded systems.
Experience of iterative / agile development practices.
Exposure to working in a global delivery team.
The candidate must also strongly appreciate and understand the impact of code/environmental changes on the business unit.
Comfortable with direct interaction with the business users at all levels.
Have good communication skills, and be able to explain complex IT problems in simple business like terminology for ease of user's understanding.

Skills Desired

Familiarity with MQ, Autosys (scheduling), .Net/C#, DB2, Hibernate, Spring, Java 6 including Web Services
Have good understanding of derivative products and STP cycle
Familiarity with central clearing and settlements areas.
Potential to become a Technical Lead.
