About the Role

You are the ideal candidate if you have a strong drive and the ability to work in a team.

You will design, implement, administer, and optimize core company technologies and related components. This includes ensuring the availability of applications, configuring new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of these environments. You will also be responsible for communicating to management the operational status of the environments, including performance, capacity, availability, failure rates, and other performance metrics. 

Your Responsibilities

  • Actively implement, maintain, troubleshoot and document complex virtualized, SaaS and PaaS environments across our global infrastructure
  • Act as a senior IT resource for analyzing, planning and migrating on prem workloads to AWS and/or other public cloud platforms
  •  Perform analysis, continual improvement and capacity planning of corporate technologies
  • Review environments and execute initiatives to reduce failures, defects and improve overall performance
  • Stay abreast of current technologies and make recommendations based on knowledge and research
  • Monitor help desk database for entries on infrastructure resource issues; prioritize and respond to help desk tickets as appropriate.
  • Plan and implement upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches
  • Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports
  • Configure IT platforms to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processes
Requirements

 We are looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience and success with virtualized infrastructure (VMWare, Hyper-V), SaaS, PaaS, and public cloud technologies (AWS, Azure)
  • Strong, hands-on technical knowledge of network and server operating systems
  • At least eight years’ equivalent work experience in a senior technical analytical position responsible for managing IT environments
  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining all manner of IT hardware
  • Experience with IT environment performance tuning and monitoring tools.
  • Strong familiarity with TCP/IP and UDP network protocols, and operating system configuration.
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • College or University degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
  • Availability to work on an on-call rotational schedule as required (on average, once every six weeks)
  • Able to make trips to our datacenter in St-Laurent or our office space in downtown Montreal once per fiscal quarter
  • Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English communication essential for effective correspondence with clients, suppliers, business partners, and colleagues beyond the province of Quebec.
