The project manager is responsible for all aspects of project delivery, up to final closure, and ensures the approval of deliverables. They contribute to resource management to achieve the objectives within the defined time and budget constraints.

The role involves organizing, directing, and controlling the human, material, financial, and technological resources essential to the delivery of one or more medium to very large-scale, cross-functional projects. The project manager is responsible for the project plan and acts as the central point of contact for all contributors involved in the project delivery (sponsor, managers, and contributors), leveraging their planning and coordination skills.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for developing the single project plan, taking into account the issues, complexity, stakeholders, and alignment with other projects, while ensuring consistency with the sponsor's business objectives.
  • In collaboration with the various contributors, be responsible for deliverables that meet business objectives and create value, while respecting agreed-upon terms, costs, and deadlines.
  • Provide functional supervision and coordination of internal and external contributors (integrators or others) involved in project delivery.
  • Authorize any requests for changes to resources and ensure quality control of the work and adherence to the governance and methodology to be applied within the project framework.
  • Develop risk analyses, impact assessments, and related strategies, taking into account various factors to manage the project's risk level.
  • Be responsible for providing a single accountability report and project progress status updates to the sponsor, the steering committee, and Other decision-making bodies

REQUIREMENTS

  • More than 6 years of experience in IT project management AND security | AND (cumulative) | Both areas of expertise must be present in the same candidate
  • PMP, MGP, or ACP certification, or equivalent demonstrated experience | OR (alternative) | Certification is preferred, but equivalent experience is accepted
  • Bilingualism (French and English) | AND (cumulative) | Interaction with unilingual English-speaking suppliers
  • Project management in large-scale and cross-functional contexts | AND (cumulative) | Comprehensive coverage: project plan, accountability, supervision of internal/external contributors
  • Risk management and management of multiple stakeholders with divergent objectives | AND (cumulative) | Demonstrable experience in a complex political environment



DESIRED
  • Experience in a financial institution or risk management | AND (cumulative) | Desjardins context or comparable institution
  • Experience in software integration and platform migration | AND (cumulative) | Concrete migration or integration project

ASSET
  • Master's degree or graduate degree in project management | AND (cumulative) | Explicitly listed as an asset in the job description
  • Note: "PMP / MGP / ACP" is read as an alternative OR: a single certification is sufficient to meet this requirement.

 

WHAT WE DON'T WANT

  • Candidate with experience in IT project management only, without documented security expertise.
  • Candidate without PMP, MGP, or ACP certification AND without equivalent demonstrable experience in managing large-scale projects.
  • Candidates should be unilingual French speakers or have insufficient functional English for sustained interaction with suppliers.
  • Candidates should have a program or portfolio management profile without direct project delivery experience.
  • Candidates should have no experience supervising external contributors (integrators or other suppliers).
