IT Internal Auditor

Overview

Reporting to the Internal Audit Manager, the IT Internal Auditor leverages their expertise to collaborate with strategic members across the organization. The IT Internal Auditor applies a strong understanding of operational risks to provide essential guidance, supporting effective risk management and contributing to solutions for emerging technology threats.

The IT Internal Auditor is responsible for testing IT General Controls (ITGC) and IT Application Controls (ITAC) in accordance with National Instrument 52–109, covering all operations within AtkinsRéalis. This role involves assessing and testing ITGC and ITAC across various systems and applications to ensure compliance, security, and operational effectiveness.

Additionally, the IT Internal Auditor supports the Internal Audit Manager in planning, executing, and reporting on strategic IT audit mandates, such as cybersecurity and data protection initiatives.

Your role

• Conduct controls testing to assess the design and operating effectiveness of ITGC and ITAC within the NI 52–109 Program.
• Attend and document control walkthrough meetings.
• Review control supporting evidence to ensure audit conclusions are well supported and documented.
• Identify and communicate control deficiencies to the manager in charge.
• Coordinate process walkthroughs and control testing with external auditors to ensure efficiency and reduce duplication.
• Perform follow-up procedures to verify the implementation of recommended actions.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, finance, accounting, or accounting systems, or related fields.
• Preferably, a minimum of one to four years of prior experience in internal/external audit, with specific experience in ITGC.
• Bilinguism (French and English) *
• Experience working in an accounting firm is considered an asset.
• Professional certification (CISA, CPA, CIA, or CFE) will be considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of ITGC and application controls.
• Experience with IT audits and data analysis (e.g., Power BI, IDEA) will be considered an asset.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
• Highly motivated, energetic, and attentive to detail.
• Capable of working independently while contributing effectively within a team.
• Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, and other MS Office applications.
• Willing and able to travel internationally, approximately 15% of the time.

*  More than 80% of the workload is for outside Québec: This position requires knowledge of a language other than French, namely English, as more than 80% of the workload is intended for clients, partners, or projects located outside Québec.
